💜 ADHD, Hormones & the Menstrual Cycle 🧠
For many women and girls with ADHD, symptoms don't stay the same throughout the month.
Emerging research is helping us better understand the impact that hormonal changes can have on attention, focus, emotional regulation, motivation, memory and executive functioning. Many women report that ADHD symptoms become significantly more challenging in the days leading up to their period, yet this connection has historically been overlooked.
This growing understanding is particularly important because ADHD in girls and women has often been under-recognised, misunderstood or diagnosed later in life.
Knowledge matters.
When we understand the role hormones may play, we can move away from self-blame and towards self-awareness, support and practical strategies. Tracking patterns, adjusting expectations, prioritising rest, building in recovery time and seeking appropriate support can all make a difference.
Whether you're a parent supporting a daughter, a professional working with young people, or someone navigating ADHD yourself, increasing awareness helps us create more inclusive environments where people can thrive.

Half term during exam season can feel overwhelming, but rest and balance matter just as much as revision 💚
Short revision bursts, sleep, movement, hydration and downtime with friends can all help your brain work more effectively. Remember — you do not need to revise every minute of the day to be productive.
Take care of yourself this week 🌟

A fun end to our session yesterday with 15 minutes in the park! We are so lucky to have such wonderful grounds at our provision. Everyone worked hard but down time is just as important whilst navigating the stress of exams.
Wishing everyone the very best today with their English paper 1 GCSE 💚
