🌳🛒🚓 A Wonderful Trip Out 🚓🛒🌳
What a lovely adventure we had!
The children embarked on a trip into the local community, visiting the shops, the park and even meeting a police officer and seeing their police car.
Our trip provided so many wonderful learning opportunities for learning beyond the nursery environment. The children explored their local community, developing their confidence, independence and awareness of the world around them.
🛒 At the shops, we talked about different foods and products, recognising familiar items, looking at signs and numbers & learning about how shops help our community. The children had opportunities to practice communication and social skills, as they interacted with the people around them.
🌳 At the park, we encouraged the children to explore climb, run and play supporting their physical development, coordination and confidence. We also took time to notice the natural world around us, talking about what we could see, hear and feel.
🚓 Our favourite surprise was meeting a police officer. The children were fascinated to see the police car up close and learned about how police officers helped to keep people safe. This was a fantastic opportunity to talk about people who help us within our community, while encouraging the children to ask questions and share their ideas.
Trips like these are so valuable because they allow children to take the learning we explore in nursery and experience it firsthand in the real world. They support language development, social skills, confidence, curiosity and understanding the community that we are a part of.
A big well done to all our little explorers, you are absolutely fantastic ⭐️
