To discover more about healthy eating, the children have been exploring a variety of vegetables and discussing different foods and why they are good for us. The children all had a go at practising their cutting skills and then using the vegetables today to print paint onto paper π₯π₯¦π₯

At Forest School this week the children were excited to make and create their own fairy houses π§β¨ They decorated the houses and used their imagination with the designs.
The children also created their own nature paintbrushes where they explored different marks and patterns using different natural resources, exploring the textures.

Fizzing fairy potions at St. Johnβs Nursery today β¨ the children created their own fairy potions using bicarbonate of soda and vinegar, using different utensils to mix it all and watch the potions fizz π§ββοΈ

When we went outside earlier the children found a snail. We talked about snails and their habitats, and to extend this, we created our own bug house. As the children collected wood from around the garden for the bug house, they noticed worms, millipedes and woodlouse, using a magnifying glass to find even more ππͺ±πͺ³π

The children had a go at measuring today, using a tape measure to measure each otherβs height. We then extended this by using blocks to measure and compare how tall each child was compared to the number of blocks.

The children at Forest School have been developing their story telling in nature. Using wildlife animals and large blocks, the children built houses for the animals, even making a shelter for them using tarpaulin when it began to rain.
The children used sticks and leaves to create their own butterflies, using their fine motor skills to thread pipe cleaners to make the wings. The children enjoyed learning about the life cycle of a butterfly π¦ππ
