So where have I been, truth be told Iām just rather busy being a mum of two, but still I sign and sing and use my puppet props!
My 6 month old signed his first word 'More' in recent days in the context of receiving more kisses.
My daughter now 2 years and 9 months still relies on her signs when struggling to pronounce a word.
I stepped away from posting but appreciate every single follower who remains with me!Hope all is well xx

Activity inspired by my daughters love for ice cream!
Every day the ice cream van stops outside our house and she is straight to the front door saying "Open", signing "Ice cream" and waving hello.
Activity - Squeeze whipped cream in to an ice cream cone and cup cake cases and decorate! We used edible glitter, sequins and pom poms.
Enjoy š

Activity idea - Say, sign and show object to create an association. Helps child to comprehend what is being said and signed.
Extend task to include finding objects in a book and practicing matching skills.
We used fruit and vegetables today to explore different tastes and textures.

keep in mind that striving to be a "Perfect parent" is an unrealistic goal and will lead to unhealthy thoughts and cause you emotional upset.
In Psychotherapy we believe in the "Good enough parent" which means doing your best is enough.
You are enough.xXx

I love this - 'Art is fundamental to human expression'.

My daughter is 15months and her expressive and receptive language amazes me.
Here she is in her little kitchen responding to my request for milk in a cup. She passes me the cup and signs "Drink" and when I pass the cup back she signs "Thank you".
Learning to sign has promoted her verbal language acquisition. Some of her favourite words are up, oh no and NO š She also really enjoys sounding out the first letter of words and loves the sounds of these letters S, B and L.
I have experienced first hand the benefits of using BSL with my child and I am even more passionate now to teach you and your child BSL.
I hope to see you in September and looking forward to Covid restrictions relaxing even more so my classes feel less inhibited.
š Any questions you might have please do ask.
