Hello 👋 I’ve had a few new followers recently, so I thought I’d reintroduce myself.

I’m Lou — a piano teacher, composer, mum of 3 girls, and the creator of Tune into Nature 🎵🌿

Alongside one-to-one piano teaching and bespoke piano commissions, I run small-group creative music workshops for children, many of which take place in my garden.

Everything I do centres around making music feel joyful, expressive and accessible — whether at the piano or through rhythm, storytelling and seasonal sound.

With the garden springing into life and a little more sunshine around, it’s inspiring me to start sharing more again ☀️🌸🌼🌷

My birthday is at the end of this week too, which for me always feels like the true end of winter and the start of something new.

A very special Christmas Present ✨

These two Beethoven Sonaten books have been lovingly restored and were given to me at Christmas from my dear Mum.

They belonged to my Great Grandmother Zoe, and were given to her in recognition of her exam results!

They were handed down to my Granny Ann (who was also a great pianist) and then my Mum who went to a specialist book binder to re bind and condition them (see the before pictures)!

My Great Granny Zoe was a very talented pianist and was probably one of the first women to take piano exams. Even more special is that my daughter recently played Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata (featured in one of the books) for her grade 7 exam, and moreover that she practised on the Broadwood piano that also belonged to Granny Zoe.

I will treasure these books for a long time and hope to pass them through the generations of musicians to come! 😍
