There are so many ways to think about reaching an audience. Being “audience first” means considering that some people cannot easily hear, see or navigate your content.

Considering things like;
-video and image descriptions
-colour contrast
-large enough text for captions
-easy to read fonts
-clear language
-and a straight forward website…
could make all the difference!

Caitlin will share more insights into what accessibility can look like for businesses during her weekly Office Hours live on LinkedIn every Tuesday morning at 10am.

Video Description:

Caitlin Quinn, a white woman with dark curly hair stands in front of a screen, giving a presentation. She is wearing a black and white striped top and has a lapel around her neck. She is wearing glasses .Caitlin uses her hands to gesture while she is talking. She says;

"If someone can't see your image. If someone can't hear your video. If someone can't navigate your website. Or read your caption. You haven't reached them. You are not audience first for them."

These captions appear at the bottom of the video.

At the end of the video, the screen changes to a coral pink background with the Good Access logo in blue, orange and black on it. Underneath is written "Driving success through accessibility."

Our Good Access Calendar for October 2026 brings together practical events, expert insights and real-world conversations to help decision makers turn accessibility into meaningful action.

This time of year brings a change of pace. As organisations move into the final stretch of the year, it's a time to review priorities, budgets and strategies for 2027.

At Good Access, we believe accessibility should be part of those decisions: helping leaders build stronger strategies, remove barriers, improve experiences and create organisations that work better for everyone.

Whatever your organisation's size, sector or stage in its accessibility journey, there's something for you.

Did you know that the colour contrast in your branding can be a huge barrier for people who might otherwise engage with your brand?

Video description:
Caitlin Quinn, a white woman with dark curly hair stands in front of a screen, giving a presentation. She is wearing a grey vest over a green shirt and glasses. In the middle of the screen there is a white box with black writing that says:
"Did you know that 1 in 12 men are colour blind and might not see your branding?"

Caitlin uses her hands to gesture while she is talking. She says;

"So you should know what of your brand. Colours can be used together to meet accessibility requirements to meet contrast specs. That's something that can just be built in. So you always know this colour works with this colour. Perfect."

We love to see opportunities for community to come together. This last weekend, members of our Good Access team participated in Run Reigate! And it just so happens that our Chief Strategy Officer David Kelly who founded Run Reigate, was right in the action! We asked David to share a few words about the event and what it means to him and to the community;

"Run Reigate will always be incredibly special to me. I created it because I wanted to bring something to Reigate that was about much more than running – something that brought people together, encouraged people of every age and ability to be active, supported local charities and gave our community something it could genuinely feel part of and proud of.

What I'm most proud of isn't the size and scale of the event or the thousands of people who have crossed the finish line; it's what Run Reigate has enabled other people to do. I've seen children run their first race, people achieve things they never thought they could, charities raise life-changing amounts of money, and a whole community come together in Reigate year after year. We created the platform, but it was the people of this community who made it what it became.

In many ways, there's a real connection between what I wanted to achieve with Run Reigate and what I'm doing now with Good Access. Both are ultimately about removing barriers, creating opportunities for people to participate and helping people feel that something is for them, not just for somebody else. That's a principle I care deeply about, and one I'm very proud to carry from one chapter of my life into the next".

Good Access will be hosting another community minded event on September 30th "The Rise of Inclusive Companies; How to make your workplace more accessible" https://zurl.co/SL1nb

September is su***de prevention month. In 2022 a Cambridge a small scale study showed that as many as 41.4% of people who died by su***de showed elevated autistic traits or had a diagnosis. This is a subject close to our CEO Heike’s heart. Heike wrote a personal blog post sharing his own experiences around su***de. You can read the blog via the link here: https://zurl.co/NKDPz
