Sitting here on a Sunday morning reflecting on Fridays Clothes Swap.

I am constantly blown away by the amazing group of volunteers that support me - endlessly.

All the ‘staff’ here are volunteers - we have a volunteer what’s app group that I ask for help on ‘event’ days and they always deliver.

We also have one of Stripey Stork’s amazing staff or volunteers that kindly collects donations at end of event to get them back to HQ.

My parents allow their doorstep to be an early collection point so that my mum and I have time to sort and clearly label donations.

Volunteer Kerrie does the same and is the most efficient ‘sorter’. She’s also kindly offered to collect clothes donations earlier than my parents can as she has some clean/dry storage space that isn’t the family lounge!

We had fabulous feedback about our new venue, from the volunteers and our regular bloom families also suggesting some ‘other’ ideas.

I will give myself a week or two planning time and then start adverising how the next event will work and how we will collect donations.

We are not providing refreshments or toys, so if bringing children please ensure you keep them with you at all times. Families (that can) often bring someone to help with picking clothes or watching children.

Our new venue, first of this academic year, ever popular clothes swap is this week (Friday 18th Sept 9.45-10.45am).

We only have ONE large car and one small car collecting left overs and direct donations so if you are bringing bulky items or more than one bag full please PM page so I can check how much room we have.

This Friday coming (18th September) our clothes swap is taking place in a new location.

St Wilfred’s Church, Horley Row, RH6 8DF

9.45-10.45am - £2.50 entry (cash only please)

You bring a bag of clean unwanted/grown out of children’s clothes and shoes, take some of our donated clothes in the next size up. BOSH!

Any left over donations will be donated to Stripey Stork and salsshoes

***New venue for clothes swap***

Friday 18th September. I will share more details of how the clothes swap works next week.

This week we are looking for donations please. We have only a few volunteers so would LOVE for you to drop at an address in horley please (PM and someone will reply in evenings).

Any clothes from newborn (and premature size) to small adult that would fit 16-18year olds).

These events rely on the public’s kind donations. Shoes and clothes can be donated as ‘leftovers’ go to Stripey Stork and salsshoes

We can even take slightly marked items as our families sometimes need them for nursery clothes and spares. Please ensure they are washed and cleaned though.

Would also be SUPER helpful if they were separated into gender and approx size.

Parking free on Honeycrock Lane but please don’t block driveways.

Also church car park opposite hall also free to park (sign says no parking to anyone apart from church and village hall).

Bus stops just on main road 2 min walk from hall and Salfords station a short walk away.

Free entry and refreshments available too.

Trinity Oaks toddler group tomorrow morning in Horley. Please remember not to park on school grounds.

But you do enter through hall door on side of car park.

There are free parking bays all around Acres and a bus stop just outside the school.

Coffee and cakes plus lovely helpers all while kids explore toys. Win win.

Here's where you can get sling help and hires this month. I have a fantastic new venue for my monthly drop-in, but other than that, it's back to business as usual!

𝙎𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨@𝘽𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙢 - 𝙎𝙖𝙡𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙨 I will be bringing the sling library along to Bloom baby and toddler group at Salfords Village Hall on the 9th September, and the second Wednesday of every month from now on. The session starts at 10.30am, and please arrive before 11.30 if you want sling help. I will be offering 15-20 minute fittings with your own slings/carriers, and will have some hire stock with me - just message if you want me to bring something in particular.
The Village Hall is at 5 Honeycrock Lane, Salfords, RH1 5DG, and there is on street parking, as well as some spaces in the church carpark opposite.

𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙘 is running on Wednesday 16th and 30th September. Appointments can be booked directly via the link in comments and are 15-20 minutes at the Smallfield studio. The full library stock is available, as well as expert fittings with your own sling/carrier. If you have a few things you want to try, or fittings with more than one of your own slings, a 90 minute consultation is the most appropriate support option.

𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 in the Smallfield studio and 𝙃𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙑𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙩 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 are available weekdays and weekends. These are 90 minutes of expert support - tailored to your specific needs, and can cover trying out multiple slings/carriers, back carrying, newborn options and beyond, lower birthweight babies, and carrying in special circumstances. Or whatever you think you may need a bit more in-depth sling help with!
There are a few bookable studio slots on the booking system, but please message for further availability.

Fittings - £10
Hires - £15 for first 2 weeks, £5 per week extensions
Studio consultations - £55
Home Visit - £65 within 30 minute drive of Smallfield. Out of area pricing on request.

YAY it’s September!

These amazing two groups are up and running again.

Usually Trinity Oaks is ‘1st’ Tuesday of the month but they were on INSET day last week. They didn’t want our amazing families to miss out so they are running it this week.

Then we have a new addition to ‘2nd’ Wednesday of the month at the Salfords group it’s the wonderful Sally from East Surrey Slings

Come and join us so we can see how much your little ones have grown over the summer.
