A smile goes a very long way.
As we are now to wear masks in more and more places, our facial expressions are becoming hidden.
I've noticed that people and especially children are frightened by this. My advice smile!
Although your mouth can't be seen, the crinkle of your eyes can.
Straight away they and you, feel less scared of this new world we are in.đŸ˜†

In some situations, weather talk is an icebreaker. In others it is used to fill an awkward silence, or divert the conversation away from uncomfortable topics. Often it is an excuse for a good old moan, which can be a bonding experience in itself.

Several features of Britain's geography make the weather the way it is: mild, changeable, and famously unpredictable.
In Britain we can be wrapped up against the cold on Saturday; picnicking in shorts and t-shirt on Sunday; and battling torrential rain on Monday. That's just the way it is here.

Even when the weather isn't so hot, the British love to talk about the weather. It's a great way to start talking to people.

It's hot, isn't it?
I am sure that you have heard this a lot recently.

When you think of a teacher, what things do you look for? Perhaps you can remember when you were at school in your home country and a teacher that you really liked? Someone who you thought was fair, was funny or really listened to you?

Think of 5 different things and put them in order of which you think is the most important, to the least important to you.

Here are mine:
1. Is approachable.
2. Is enthusiastic.
3. Really listens to students.
4. Gives clear and positive feedback.
5. Gives a lesson that I want to attend.

If you can't think of 5, don't worry, you might think of them later on.

Should you be worried that you don't understand all that I have written, again don't worry, highlight the words that you do know and make a note of the words you don't. Please contact me and I will give help with those words you don't know.

I'm here to help with any aspects of the English language. So don't be shy and send me a message.

Thank you.
