AND back on the road as a folk performer promoting my new album 50 Foxie Folk now out on Spotify, YouTube and CD My teaching career spans nearly 30 years, and I am a member of the Association of Teachers of Singing, I have taught in several FE Colleges as well as the Birmingham School of Drama whilst maintaining a successful
private studio. I taught in secondary level schools around Worcestershire. My philosophy as a singing teacher - I start from the given that everyone can sing! Tone deafness is a very rare condition - I’ve never met anyone who is actually tone deaf! They’re easy to spot - there is little or no inflection in their speaking voice. For those who’d like to do exams - there are several boards, including Musical Theatre, which is very popular! As I have a holistic approach to singing, I teach interpretation and acting techniques - after all, a singer has words as well as music and those words tell a story. I trained at The Royal Northern College of Music, and then went on the road with a folk group! Thereafter my career included oratorio, light opera, jazz, folk and middle of the road. 3 Cds, television performances include Songs of Praise and Prom appearances. I have appeared in concert houses around the world including Sydney, Vienna and Canada. My radio appearances include regular broadcasts from the Brecon Cathedral Jazz Service.
