Until recently I was employed by Worcestershire County Council and then Babcock Prime as a Support Teacher/Advisor for the Virtual School for Looked After and Adopted Children – a role that I was fortunate and proud to have held for almost 12 years. Unfortunately restructuring within Learning and Achievement in Worcestershire has led my post to no longer exist within the Virtual S

chool from April 2016. Via my role, and my 10 years as a class teacher prior to that, I have become very passionate about, experienced and skilled in supporting children with Social, Emotional and Behavioural and Attachment Difficulties to be able to settle to and enjoy learning and to therefore make progress and achieve within their school or other educational setting – leading to improved long term outcomes and life chances. I am very pleased and excited to let you know that from May 2016 I am working independently to continue and develop my work – not only supporting Looked After and Adopted children but all children who may be experiencing Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulties that may be impacting upon their wellbeing, progress and achievement with education.

Our Story

Until April 2016 I was employed by Worcestershire County Council and then Babcock Prime as a Support Teacher/Advisor for the Virtual School for Looked After and Adopted Children – a role that I was fortunate and proud to have held for almost 12 years. Unfortunately restructuring within Learning and Achievement in Worcestershire led my post to no longer exist and I and many colleagues were made redundant. Via my role, and my 10 years as a class teacher prior to that, I have become very passionate about, experienced and skilled in supporting children with Social, Emotional and Behavioural and Attachment Difficulties to be able to settle to and enjoy learning and to therefore make progress and achieve within their school or other educational setting – leading to improved long term outcomes and life chances. I am very proud to say that I have continued to work in a similar role for the Specialist Support Service in Solihull supporting children and schools around SEMH and ASD. I am also working independently to support teachers across the UK to develop their knowledge and understanding of children and young people with Attachment Difficulties and how we can support them to thrive within education.
