We can't wait to welcome you all back for the new academic year. Please take a look at the graphic above for all the essential details regarding start dates, timings, and uniform expectations.

📅 Key Return Dates:

Tuesday 1st September: Staff PD Day (No students in school)

Wednesday 2nd September: Year 7 & Year 11 pupils ONLY

Thursday 3rd September: ALL students back in school

⏰ Daily Start Time:
All students must be on site and ready for learning by 8:20 AM every day.

👔 Uniform & Presentation Reminders:
Please ensure students arrive in full academy uniform. As a reminder, the following items are not permitted:

❌ Flares (trousers must be standard tailored fit)

❌ Jewellery

❌ False nails

❌ False eyelashes

📚 Summer Readathon '26: COMPLETED! 🎉 Our incredible students have officially wrapped up this year’s Readathon, and we couldn't be prouder! Not only did they crush their reading goals, but they also turned those pages into real-world impact. Thanks to their hard work and your generous support, we’ve successfully collected 🥫 Non-perishable food items and 🧼 Essential hygiene products which are ready to be delivered to our local food bank to support families in our community! ❤️ A massive thank you for proving that reading really is a superpower. We can't wait to host more Readathons in the new academic year!

Know a young person? Paid work experience now available

THE council is offering paid work experience to young people to provide a vital skill as they prepare for working life.

Nine placement opportunities are now being advertised as part of our Young Person’s Paid Work Experience Programme to commence in September.

This programme provides 12 months' paid work experience to young people from our borough. The young people need to be in academic years 11 to 13 (age 15-18) and in full or part-time education. The young people are offered up to 7.5 hours per week (daytime, evening, or weekend work) and are paid National Minimum Wage.

Youth Worker (DBS Required) (Evenings)
Health, Safety and Wellbeing
Business Administrator (Mon-Fri)
Kirkleatham Museum
Museum Visitor Ambassador Assistant (Weekdays or Weekends)
Home to School Transport
Travel Support Assistant (DBS Required, academic years 12 & 13 only) (Mon-Fri)
Office Support Assistant
Street Scene
Neighbourhood Environmental Work Placement
Waste and Recycling
Business Administrator (Mon-Fri)
Property Services
Electrician
