⚠️ IMPORTANT UPDATE: RAFC SUMMER HOLIDAY COURSE SCHEDULED FOR TOMORROW 12/8/26 ⚠️
Unfortunately, due to safety concerns regarding tomorrow’s holiday course and the current situation with the traveller settlement at Redcar Athletic Football Club, we have made the extremely difficult decision to have to cancel tomorrow’s holiday course.
Having been to assess the situation myself this afternoon, there looks to be no movement on getting the caravans away in time for tomorrow, and the clubhouse, toilets and pitches at the club must remain closed.
After speaking to a number of venues locally, nowhere else has the capacity, or are suitable, to host us at such short notice.
So, what does that mean…?
You have two options in terms of what will happen to your booking:
Option A: We will put on an extra day towards the end of the summer holidays so that we can honour tomorrow’s missed booking, as well as giving the chance for extra children to join us for another day. The date we have decided on for this is THURSDAY 27th AUGUST.
Option B: If you’d prefer to save the credit for another one of our future course dates, or cannot make the amended date due to plans already made, please let us know and I will keep a register of those who have a day’s credit for future bookings.
I appreciate this is not ideal at such short notice for tomorrow, and a number of you will have been relying on us for childcare. I sincerely hope you manage to get alternative arrangements in place if this was the case.
Please trust that this is a decision I have not taken lightly and have hung on until this afternoon to make the decision to give the authorities chance to make some progress with evicting said travellers. Sadly, I am now in a position where I cannot hold on any longer to make the decision, so have decided on the safest option, which is to postpone.
I hope you understand the difficult situation we have been put and respect our decision.
