Beenham Preschool

It has been a joyful two days of celebration to mark the end of another year at Beenham Pre-School. Yesterday we had a picnic with the staff and children and shared some of our favourite attention buckets, story sacks and games. Today we had our party with Pop Up Play Village - Thatcham and Newbury in the morning and then party food, our musical Makaton performance, Graduation ceremony and a picnic for family and friends. We are so proud of our Leavers and so excited to see our younger children back in September ready to welcome new friends

Over the last few weeks we have all been making mini versions of ourselves; looking in the mirror and selecting wools and fabrics, pipe cleaners, pegs, drawing our faces and talking about how we are feeling. We talk about our Pre-School being a community all the time but never more than when we draw to the end of a year and prepare to say some goodbyes before we say some hellos in September !
I have also sneaked in another rather lovely review which came in this morning from a family who have been with us for a long time and are now moving on and will be much missed xx

The end of the summer term always brings so many emotions ... sad to say goodbye and excited for what comes next xx

As the Manager of an amazing group of people I wanted to say a very public THANKYOU to them all for working with me to keep our Pre-School open in this hot weather. It has not always been the most comfortable space to be in with the current temperatures of course, but we have kept the children safe and entertained with ice and water play, stories, games, crafts and a lot of fruity ice pops ! Thank you everyone :-)

Beenham Pre-School is a warm and nurturing early years setting with a child-led therapeutic approach, a team of experienced and dedicated practitioners, and free flow to a fabulous outside space in.a rural location. We accept up to 30 hours funding per week and do not make any hidden charges for snacks, consumables or the many activities which we offer including PopUp Play Village, Outdoor Explorers, Baby College and more.

'My daughter has thoroughly enjoyed her first year at preschool with Paula and her wonderful team. She settled in extremely well from the start and has genuinely loved attending each week. The preschool creates a warm, welcoming, environment where children are encouraged to learn, grow, and develop confidence through a wide range of activities.
The effort the team puts into parent events, seasonal celebrations, and additional experiences such as Play Village and Outdoor Explorers is fantastic. It is also wonderful to see the children learning Makaton alongside other important communication and social skills. The preschool actively encourages exploration, outdoor play, creativity, and positive interactions with children of all ages.
Communication from the preschool is outstanding. Regular updates through Tapestry, emails, newsletters, progress reports, and photographs ensure that parents feel involved in their child's learning journey and can celebrate their achievements along the way.

A heartfelt thank you to Beenham Primary School who took pity on us this afternoon when we were melting in the heat and offered us not only the use of the School Hall as an extra space to spread out but also their screen so we could watch Julia Donaldson (and then when my laptop would not connect they even let us borrow a laptop too !).
