Our children have been very interested in exotic animals this week so we have been looking at globes and habitats, learning makaton signs for animals, and exploring different animal prints and patterns and sharing some of our favourite books including "Dear Zoo", "Never Tickle a Tiger" and "This Zoo is not for You".
We finished the week with an Attention Bucket on the theme of exotic animals which included a rude frog and a rude lizard, some very colourful feathers and a fan !

A wonderful end to the week in our garden with the sun and shade and shadows ... here are some of the explorations and activities we shared just today.
We have also been doing lots of percussion this week with our percussion sticks and our bodies and using one handed tools like pipettes, tweezers, basters, and scissors.

A huge thank you to Pop Up Play Village - Thatcham and Newbury for helping us to run Well-being Sessions for our Leavers who are moving on to primary school in July. Really important to work to support their transitions x
A great visit to a local preschool today with our Wellbeing Planning which focuses purely on supporting children's mental health using our role play areas combined with play therapy techniques.
We have 7 core areas that our Wellbeing Planning covers. These are:
- Safe Expression and Emotion Regulation
- Developing Self Esteem
- Developing Problem Solving Skills
- Building on Relationships with others
- Developing Communication Skills
- Developing Coping Strategies
- Developing a Sense of Control
In this visit, the children were supported individually using our Wellbeing Planning based on what the children needed support with.
If you would like any further information about our Wellbeing Planning, do let us know. We would love to tell you more!

Thank you so much Baby College West Berks and North Reading for a busy afternoon thinking about postal workers, 'posting' letters to our friends, learning about the phonics sound "w", listening to music and making our own with instruments, having fun with parachutes and hoops and bean bags, and of course ... bubbles ! How did we fit all that in ??
See you again soon x
