I am a piano teacher based in Berkshire. Music can help enrich your life in a variety of ways. Let me I am an experienced musician, piano teacher and accompanist.
I offer lessons to people of all ages and abilities. I am an advocate of Paul Harris' Simultaneous Learning method. I teach all over Berkshire and also travel as far as Salisbury, Henley and Southampton. My private teaching is based at a studio in Reading and I also teach for Berkshire Maestros. I am a graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and, in addition to teaching a acc
ompanying, am currently completing a Masters course in music (performance) at Southampton University. In 2012, I won the Terence Greaves Prize for Big Band music from the RNCM. I have taught students of all abilities and ages. I believe in looking at different ways to approach teaching each student in order to design a bespoke system of learning that is best for them. At the forefront of my process is the music and how best to enjoy the experience of learning the piano so that it is always a joy. This may be with tutor books, grade books or it may just be by looking at a variety of pieces. I strongly believe in a holistic approach and am an advocate of Paul Harris' system of Simultaneous Learning. My students have a 100% success rate with the majority of my students achieving merits and distinctions. I am a highly experienced performer having played both as soloist and as accompanist or member of various ensembles. I have previously been a staff accompanist at Dartington Summer School and am currently a tutor and ensemble leader for Berkshire Maestros with whom I have a full DBS certificate (previously CRB). I am also Musical Director for Spotlights Musical Theatre Group in Ascot. Whatever your musical goals, I would like to help you realise them. Please also see my profile on tutor pages:
