Well done Jen for getting Activity of the Week!⭐
The children in Little Toads have shown a real interest in dinosaurs this week, so Jen created a fun dinosaur-themed messy play activity using green gloop, dinosaurs, trees and scooping tools🦕🌲
The children took turns using the spades to scoop and pour the gloop over the dinosaurs and trees. They loved exploring the messy texture, developing their fine motor skills, turn-taking and imagination as they created their own dinosaur adventures🦖

Owls explored a minibeast tuff tray. The children found the bugs in the woodland then used tweezers to take them out without breaking the spiders web. Once they were all found they counted them to make sure they had found them all! We then re-hid all the bugs and started again!
Using tweezers helps to develop children’s fine motor skills and pre-writing skills. We encouraged the children to use mathematical language too!🪲🐜🔎

Hedgehogs helped make a hidden sea animals tuff tray! The children watched a member of staff shred lots of blue and green paper then helped to empty it all into the tray. They then hid the sea animals under the paper and enjoyed re-discovering them. The children threw the paper into the air and got very excited as it fell back down onto them!🦭🦈🐟

All of the children have been keeping cool in the heatwave last week with lots of water and ice play! 🌞
Hedgehogs played with ice filled with shimmer powder. They enjoyed watching the water become shimmery as the ice melted.
Little toads had multi-coloured ice which the children explored and mixed together.
Owls loved making marks with the ice paints!

⭐️Well done Amy for getting activity of the week last week!
A child brought the billy goat’s gruff in to read with the class. Amy was reading it to the children when in the moment she noticed they were very interested in the book and got the materials out to make bridges with the children. The children helped bring the tables closer together and put tape between them. They attached lollypop sticks to make bridges and extended it by making up their own stories!⭐️

Team building at the staff meeting this month!
The staff all had to use two fingers to bring the wooden pole down to the floor without it dropping. This was a great opportunity for the staff to practice our communication skills and work together as a team!
It was lovely to get to know the new staff and have a laugh with everyone!
