Today, the nursery children went for a walk to the meadows. The children excitedly told us that we were going on a bear hunt! As we explored, we remembered the words from the story: “We can’t go over it, we can’t go under it, oh no! We’ve got to go through it!”
We walked through the long, wavy grass — “Swishy swashy! Swishy swashy!” — and squelched through the thick, oozy mud — “Squelch squerch! Squelch squerch!” We also walked around the pond, keeping our eyes open for a bear, but we did not find one.
The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the meadows, looking at the different wildflowers and discovering a variety of bugs and insects. On the way back to nursery, we happily sang our favourite nursery rhymes together and reminded each other that we were “not scared” on our bear hunt adventure!🐻

In light of recent cases, a gentle reminder to know the signs of meningitis.
While rare, it can become serious quickly—especially in young children. Look out for symptoms like a high temperature, unusual drowsiness, vomiting, sensitivity to light, a stiff neck, or a rash that doesn’t fade when pressed.
If you’re concerned, trust your instincts and seek medical advice.🧑⚕️
