Happy world book day - the Reading nook is all set up for us to enjoy some books together.

Another childminder wrote this - I think it is perfect now that my doors are shut until the 3rd January and the house is starting to get tidy 🤣

‘Twas the night before Christmas
As the moon shone so bright,
All signs of the children
Were hidden from sight.
Away went the dolls house,
Away went the bricks,
Away went the train track,
Away the glue sticks.
Gone were the nappies,
Gone all the toys,
Gone snotty noses,
Gone went the noise.
Prams, high chairs, potties
Packed away in the shed,
As the house falls silent
And I go up to bed.
Thoughts fill my mind
And memories appear,
Of all the adventures
We’ve had through the year.
The learning and growing,
Adventures and fun.
The songs that we’ve sung,
All the crafts we have done.
The cuddles, the laughter,
The magic kiss better.
The school runs that couldn’t
Have been any wetter.
Some days were tiring,
Some made me smile,
Most days were hard work,
But all were worthwhile.
To see how these children
Are growing to be
The most amazing small people
I ever did see.
So here’s to a new year,
To all that’s ahead,
As a hush does descend
And I go up to bed.
May your Christmas be special
And full of delight.

Well it's been a busy 4 days of the Easter holidays - parks, woodland walks, crafts and playing, playing, playing.

Don't forget this weekend is the RSPB citizen science bird watch. The children have made birds, binoculars and bird feeders in anticipation.

Today we again embraced the cold weather and headed out to Little Robins forest school. The children enjoy themselves so much exploring and embracing the environment.

Happy Chinese New Year! The children have been having lots of fun over the last week celebrating in preparation of the new year - making Chinese style hats, fans and lanterns. They have also visited a Chinese supermarket and played with rainbow rice and noodles with Chinese cooking implements. They also ate a Chinese meal.

After a busy few weeks all the Christmas preparations are done as I close my doors for 2022. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and 2023 is full of fun, health and happiness. Here is a selection of the crafts and activities the children have been doing.

With all the press about Strep A at the moment and the fact that we are well into the cough and cold season here is some information.

We have been very busy here with the Autumn festivities. Here is a little of what we have been doing - including colours, pumpkins, fireworks and poppies.

Happy Diwali - it has been a fun festival of light here today (I even joined in on the crafting 😁)

When you set up frozen berry painting for the little ones to do to keep them cool but the eldest 2 end up having more fun with it than the little ones 😆😅
