🧪✨ First A Level Practical ✨🧪

Our BW6 students have completed their very first A Level Chemistry practical.

Today’s challenge: Titration — checking the accuracy of volumetric solutions ⚗️📏

From carefully measuring solutions to reading the burette and calculating results, our students got hands-on with the precision, patience and scientific skills that are at the heart of A Level Chemistry.

A fantastic start to their A Level practical work, with many more experiments, discoveries and opportunities to develop their scientific skills ahead.

Inspiring our EPQ students at BW6!

We were delighted to welcome our first external speaker to BW6 yesterday, with Frieda W joining our EPQ classes to share her first-hand experience of completing the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).

Frieda spoke about her own EPQ journey, the valuable skills she developed along the way, and gave our students a fantastic insight into what a completed project looks like. 📚💡

The session was incredibly useful and gave our students plenty of inspiration, guidance and confidence as they prepare to submit their project proposals next week.

A huge thank you to Frieda for taking the time to share her experience and help our students take the next step in their EPQ journey! 👏

Last Friday we welcomed some future Year 12 students in for the afternoon for some pre-enrolment tasks. They had a short presentation from Ms Comber and Mr Fisher, followed by a carousel of activities such as taking ID photos, collecting their summer ice breaker tasks, learning more about life at BW6 and most importantly.. collecting some BW6 merch and ice creams!

Emails have been sent to students to confirm their place for BW6 so check your inboxes if you haven't done so already!

We look forward to seeing lots of you on Results Day on 20th August 📑
