🐢 Happy National Turtle Day 🐢

🐍 Ssssss Snakes are in the grass 🐍

We started Jolly Phonics group 1, which looks at the letters S, A, T, P, I, N. This is designed for children to start blending simple words such as “TAP” and “SIT”.

This is a good starting point for the new children who have moved into our preschool room, but also a great refresher for our older children who are off to school and will soon be blending sounds.

Today started with a game of match, followed by singing our Jolly Phonics song using our snakes. We matched the stars with the colours and also hunted for snakes in the scarves.

❤️ Today we celebrated the nation's Grandad, Sir David Attenborough, who turns 100 ❤️ The babies did a special animal-themed what's in the box, the older children watched clips of his BBC documentary Blue Planet, which ties in nicely with our monthly theme. We also did colouring, giant ocean puzzles, and got messy finding sea creatures in shaving foam. Happy 100th Birthday! 🎈

☀️We have had a wonderful time exploring the farm throughout April☀️ Our little chicks arrived safely 🐣 and we’ve engaged in a variety of activities, including starlight music and BilinguaSing 🎵 We hope that May will bring us just as much fun, along with even more sunshine as we dive into our Under the Sea theme. 🐟

☀️Forest School☀️ The children had a delightful walk in the sunshine to the woods, where they listened to the story of ‘Little Bear’ 🐻. After discovering that Little Bear lives in a den, the children decided to make their own ⛺️.

❤️ What a great way to start our Monday, with a music session from Starlight MDV 🎶 This week our topic was NATURE 🍃 🌳 ☀️ We were calm and still for sleeping bunnies but then we moved and grooved to build me up buttercup. 🌼

☀️ Forest School took a little walk to see some farm animals 🐴 🐷

We’ve had a wonderful time celebrating Easter! The children enjoyed exploring tuff trays, getting creative with crafts, and taking part in our annual Easter egg hunt, plus a special visit from the Easter Bunny 🐰 and if that wasn’t enough when the children return to nursery, we will be welcoming our chicks! 🐣😄 We hope you all have a lovely Easter! 🪺

⭐️Staffing Update⭐️

We are delighted to announce that Flick has joined the family business.

She will finish her Level 2 qualification in August and will start her Level 3 training in September.

Flick will be gaining experience across all rooms.

Sulis has also joined our team

She will be working in the preschool room, where the children have already taken a liking to her. We think she will be a fantastic addition to the Chalkhouse family
