Today marks our final Student of the Week celebration of this academic year, and we'd like to say a huge congratulations to all of this week's winners! 👏
Thank you to every student who has been recognised throughout the year for their hard work, resilience, positive attitude and commitment to learning. We are incredibly proud of you all. ⭐
📢 One final twist... KS3 students who were on today's Chessington Reward Trip will have an extra Student of the Week celebration on Monday, so watch this space!

Each student won a £10 voucher for their excellent attendance and were presented with it by our lovely Attendance Officer, Mrs Morris.
Unfortunately, we don't have a photo of our Y7 winner, Safiya, as she was enjoying the Reward Trip to Chessington when the prizes were presented!

That's why we've packed our final week with exciting attendance rewards and celebrations to recognise the commitment and dedication shown by our students throughout the year. ☀️🏃 Sports Day 2026 was a great success! Fantastic effort, sportsmanship and teamwork were on display throughout the day. Well done to all our students and staff for giving it their all and making it such a memorable event.

A big shout-out to Mr Butchers, who helped get 7 students' bikes safe and ready for the road during his first bike maintenance session last week, while also sharing valuable cycling safety tips.

🌟 Inaugural Post-16 Destinations Fair a Great Success! 🌟
On Tuesday, MER proudly hosted its first-ever Post-16 Destinations Fair, giving our Year 10 students—and many pupils from younger year groups—the opportunity to explore the exciting pathways available to them after school.
Representatives from local schools, further education providers and apprenticeship organisations were on hand to share information, answer questions and inspire students as they begin thinking about their future. It was fantastic to see so many students engaging in meaningful conversations, discovering new opportunities and exploring where their passions could take them.
A huge thank you to all of our exhibitors for helping make the event such a success. We look forward to building on this exciting new addition to our careers programme in the years ahead!

This week’s Students of the Week enjoyed a well-deserved celebration with Deputy Head Mr Hood. With temperatures soaring, we swapped our usual hot chocolate treat for something a little more refreshing... 🍦☀️
It was a fantastic opportunity to recognise the hard work, positive attitudes and excellent achievements of our students. We are incredibly proud of everything they have accomplished and the way they continue to represent our school values every day.
