Unfortunately, this happens far too much.

Schools must follow the proper procedures to suspend or exclude pupils.
A letter is sent home with the chance to challenge the decision.
Every child has a right to education, and schools are doing this without offering any additional support or discussions with family.
More often than not, this follows after needs are not being met in the placement.

This is where you need to follow the correct complaints procedure and hold schools accountable for their choices.

I HAAAATED school, and when I left, I was told I'd have been in less trouble if I bunked off 🙃🫠

Nobody could quite believe that I ended up back in the education system, but on the other side. Infact. I am almost certainly one of my old TAs nearly spat out her drink when I told her 😆

I noticed that the system was still very much broken and my habit for being a thorn in the system's was still top notch 💁🏻‍♀️ 🏅

Most insecure management hated me (cute).
Why?
I question EVERYTHING if I feel it won't benefit the children. 🤔
Eventually, I got sick of feeling unheard and adding to the problem, so I broke away and started something VERY simple👇🏼

🌟 support that is centred around the child and what they NEED at THEIR pace.

🚶‍♀️ Walk and a waffle- I'm ya gal
🎨 Arts and crafts with a natter- I got you
🍔homemade cooking, and a side of kitchen 💃 whilst we build confidence through mistakes- I'm there
☕️ hot chocolate and a chin wag- let's put the world right
🤪someone to be weird with- I'm there yesterday!

Having a safe space to truly be yourself, explore your environment and discuss challenges can create a perfect recipe for confidence building. And hey- we can get extra quirky and chill out in the Mobile Mentoring Hub

The once dreaded trip to the shops becomes a fun outing, the pressure felt by the system is understood and the future makes more sense , once different paths are available.
