A big thank you to Buzz, our School therapy dog, for continuing to help and support many of our children at Whitley Park. Alongside Sarah and Mr Buley he has supported Children’s attendance to improve, engaged children with his latest new tricks , listened to children read and been a comfort and support to those who have needed. Thank you Buzz and enjoy your time at home with Mr Buley next term!

We have been delighted to have a local charity in called ‘Becoming Mums’ running a group alongside our Children and Family Worker, Sarah. We have had four sessions of crafting, sharing skills, rock painting and producing art around our feelings of motherhood. It has been fun and a group all have looked forward to coming back.
It has been described as a ‘safe space’ , ‘somewhere I can learn from other Mums and make new friends’, ‘a place where I haven’t felt so lonely’, ‘a place to share thoughts and ideas and share tips on parenting’.
A big thank you to Becoming Mums who have a monthly local group in Hexham road that all are welcome to attend!

Today is Parent Mental Health Day. We would like to take this opportunity to honour all the families in our school community and recognise the important role you play in your child’s life. Parenting can be one of the hardest jobs in the world, you are carers, rule makers, advocates and nurturers and your children are lucky to have you. So often it is hard to make time for your self and your own wellbeing in busy family life. I hope today brings opportunity for a hot cup of tea or quiet moment to reflect on the small joys in life. Stem4 the charity who established Parent Mental Health day have some wonderful resources for parents, which can be found here https://stem4.org.uk/pmhd/?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=Orlo
