The course will cover:
• Ofsted and the EYFS
• Ages and stages of mathematical development
• Mathematical language
• Counting and number
• Spatial reasoning

Our level 2 students at Forest School training at Ufton Court, The day has been carefully planned to give students the opportunity to engage with and experience a range of Forest School and outdoor experiential learning sessions through an EYFS lens. Throughout the day, students will explore woodland discovery activities, sensory exploration, risk and challenge, bush craft skills and reflective practice, whilst considering how outdoor environments can support children’s learning, wellbeing and development.
The approach will be highly practical and immersive, encouraging students to actively participate, reflect and discuss the balance between child-led exploration and more adult-led skill development activities.

This week, we are supporting Knife Crime Awareness Week by reminding our students and community about the importance of staying safe, making positive choices, and looking out for one another.
Education, open conversations, and support can make a real difference. We encourage all young people to speak to a trusted adult if they ever feel unsafe or pressured.
Together, we can help create safer schools, safer communities, and brighter futures for every student. 💙

Fantastic sensory tray done by one of our Early Years Apprentices Niamh!!
Sensory trays are brilliant for early learning because children learn best through hands-on play. Scooping, pouring and exploring different textures helps build their brain, improve fine motor skills (great for writing later), and boost language as they describe what they’re doing.

A successful Room Leader Networking Meeting took place this morning, led by Katy Edwards, who shared valuable insights on working as an Early Years Room Leader, with a focus on delegation and Ofsted inspections. We were also pleased to welcome guest speaker Lisa Paine from the Early Years team at Reading Council.
We received lots of fantastic feedback, with attendees finding the session both insightful and helpful. We’re looking forward to running these meetings regularly to continue supporting the Early Years community.
Our next event is planned for September 🥳🥳
