Ceramics has its fair share of various surface design techniques, from bright colours to muted glazes, from hand painting to decal prints. This workshop will introduce a ceramic surface painting technique called Majolica. We will draw inspiration from colours around us in everyday life. Join Karen Carter on Saturday 19th September for a Brambles and Berries in watercolour and gouache workshop 🍂 In this session, we will take our inspiration from the abundance of autumn fruits, creating lovely illustrative images of brambles, berries and more.

There will be colour mixing demos to capture the rich hues of an autumn palette and some simple layering techniques using watercolour or gouache. We’ll add in detail with line-work using dip pens and coloured pencil, a little bit of collage to add another element of interest, and of course, a smattering of spattering!

Suitable for all skill levels, this relaxed and inspiring session will guide you through layering colour, creating soft washes, and building delicate botanical designs inspired by flowers, foliage, and nature. Chloe will demonstrate a range of glazing techniques to help you achieve depth, movement, and a watercolour effect on ceramic surfaces.

Spend the day with Shauna Redman Fosker on Sunday 13th September capturing your favourite landscape in oils. Bring along a photo of a landscape that means something to you or inspires you and Shauna will guide you through the painting with advice on composition, perspective, light and texture.

he brilliant Sue Tilbury is joining us on Thursday 10th September for an Animal Painting workshop. In this workshop Sue will teach you how to paint fur, feathers or scales.

This workshop is suitable for all levels using either acrylics or oils. Plenty of reference will be supplied but you can bring along a photo of a particular animal if you wish ☺️ Join us for a fun filled day painting animals.
