Love how these lemons 🍋 turned out today. We wove our background and made a frame. The lemons were painted in acrylic and finished off with bright green leaves. Super job, so effective!

We experimented with air dry clay and the effect was very cool. So much fun using a different medium. We drew our octopus shape on a board and moulded the clay making tentacles. We finished it off with a painted background and lots of bubbles

These acrylic marker pens are very good at adding detail and easy to use. You can layer and get a vibrant colour. These caravan mountainous landscapes are really lovely.

This guided lesson helped the children get the basic shape of the lemur before going on to add tone and colour in the medium of their choice. We all finished off using leaf stencils to surround our work.

This week we have made Birthday cards for Sir David Attenborough. The children were soooooo excited, we have some super fans! The messages inside were so special. These beautifully decorated cards will be posted to his production company today. Let’s hope our envelope stands out enough….🦋🐝🐞🪲

The children were excited to return to Art club yesterday. We have a full class this term and a waiting list so the club is getting very popular. We welcomed some new students and had great fun creating these fab music inspired pieces. Love how different they all are ❤️. Pastels and acrylic paint pens

My lesson this weekend was experimenting with biro, building rich detailed tones using varied pressure and trying to give a sense of movement with horizontal lines. An inexpensive medium and one that can’t be erased. Developing the idea further by adding text and colour. All of these steps count towards creating a final piece of work.

I am tutoring a Year 10 student who is keen to expand his portfolio and drive his GCSE Art grades up. His chosen subject is cars, so over the coming weeks we will work using as many different mediums as possible. I prepared the class by creating this charcoal drawing to demonstrate how tone can make an object look realistic. Charcoal is great at creating a dramatic statement piece.

These colourful vases are oil pastel prints. By folding a piece of paper in half and covering one page entirely in oil pastels, then drawing your image in pencil on the other side it transfers the oil creating this delicate rainbow effect. The children loved this technique and also experimenting with cool ways of framing your work.
