Alder Bridge Steiner-Waldorf School

As some of you may already know, on December 16th we will be closing and saying goodbye to Alder Bridge school as we know it. If you would like to come and say farewell we will be holding the last ever Advent fayre on Dec 3rd! Would be great to see everyone there.

Come and enjoy a beautiful Advent Fayre at Alder Bridge Steiner school where you can celebrate the simple magic of the season.

There will be artisan gifts to buy, delicious hot food, mince pies and festive drinks. Children can enjoy an array of special activities including candle dipping and storytelling.
The children's market is an Alder Bridge tradition that gives the chance for your children to choose little gifts by themselves for family and friends while our Advent inspired crafts mean they leave with something handmade to enjoy too.
Live music adds to the atmosphere, and we end the event with a raffle of excellent prizes and carol singing. The perfect start to the season.

The school shop looking very beautiful at Tolhurst Organic for the squash & pumpkin festival today.

Our Harvest fair was a beautiful day, it was so lovely to see everyone enjoying the food and drinks and taking part in games and crafts. The apple pressing was a hit and many took home bottles of juice. Children enjoyed the storytelling and watching or joining in the folk dancing too!

Yesterday the students came together to celebrate Michaelmas. It is a festival of courage and overcoming fears but also of Autumn and the Harvest. Pupils sang songs together, made bread and soup to share, then took part in some challenges in the school woodland.

Alder Bridge school shop will be Tolhurst Organic for the pumpkin festival this Sunday from 12-4pm. Drop by and take part in our craft or come and have a chat with us!

Class one have had two full weeks of playing and learning now. In that time they’ve heard lots of wonderful Grimms Fairy tales. Words and letters are picked from the stories, then practiced through modelling with clay and playing games to learn how the letters are formed.

This week kindergarten have been enjoying turning the apple harvest into dried apple rings!

We are having an Autumnal celebration and everyone is welcome! October 1st 11am-3pm Join us for apple pressing, delicious warming food, crafts, face painting, games, story telling and even Folk dancing. School tours will be available, so if you have been curious to find out more about our wonderful school make sure you come along.

Class 1 were welcomed in to school this week, they spent the first few days settling into their new classroom!

Alder Bridge had a visit from Didgeridoo by Joe Caudwell this week. class 3/4 camped in the woods, and learnt bush crafts and the didgeridoo. Later, the parents got to enjoy a candlelit sound experience. What a great few days, thank you Joe!
