The Churchend staff team were out in force at the Waingels College 5k and 10k race this morning! Well done to everyone who took part - we had a big team to represent Churchend and the Orchard Learning Alliance! We all did well, used our Churchend values and will be back next year to get PBs!! Hope to see some of our pupils there too!

Our after School Clubs are back at Churchend School TODAY - Monday 14th September and are booking up fast... All sessions are 3:15pm - 4:30pm, include fun warm ups, skills and drills plus game/match time to finish.

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone from Years 1 to 6 back to school tomorrow morning! Our Early Years team are also looking forward to starting their home visits to see our new pupils in their own home!

Don’t forget, some building work means children in Years 1 and 4, as well as Hedgehog class in Y2, will be heading through the library doors over the next few days! Staff will be on hand to help…

Theale Fire Service came to visit Year 5 today. The children learnt about fire safety, the role of fire workers and were even able to use the fire safety equipment and go inside the fire engine! Year 5 really enjoyed the visit, it was engaging and informative! 🚒🧯

Last week, our Year 6s took a special, celebratory trip to Chessington World of Adventures! Despite the heat, a lot of fun was had (particularly from the adults!) 🎢🎡

Some of Churchend’s Eco-Champions joined others from Hawkedon Primary School, Southlake Primary School and Willowbank Juniors at Waingels College for the Orchard Learning Alliance Climate change and environmental day. The children took part in three activities, thinking about adaptation and resilience of different bird species when feeding themselves, mapping the different plants that grow on the school site and creating self-watering plant pots. It was a great day where the children got to meet others in the trust and learn about different aspects of climate change and biodiversity, as well as meeting some excellent ambassadors from Waingels!
