Poppies Room have started preparing for spooky season following along with our Autumn theme this term!

Today we enjoyed a bus trip to the local Tescos to look at all the Halloween decorations and pick out a couple of pumpkins to use in some activities in the next couple of weeks! Everyone enjoyed getting to investigate and explore the aisle of interesting things, the fluffy Halloween Gnomes were a hit! And it was lovely how friendly and kind everyone on the bus was to us! 🚌🎃🛒

Autumn has officially arrived and Poppies room have been out the past couple of days exploring in the local area! Kitted out with wellies, splash suits and hoods we have found plenty of muddy puddles to splash in!!
The local woods was a grand adventure for the little ones! The children had so much fun toddling around in their boots finding conkers and pinecones to take back to nursery🍁🍂, having a picnic in the woodland and seeing soooo many animals! Including a horse🐴, deer🦌 and loads of dogs🐶!! We even hunted for bears ‘Grrrr!’🐻

This week the last of our graduates have officially started primary school! We wish them all the very best of luck in their new adventures! You’re all shining stars and we know you’ll rock school! 🌟🌟🌟

Apart from using the sand for our usual digging we have been creating some beautiful artwork with it this week. The children have been sharing their own experiences of visiting the seaside . There has been lots of lovely language describing the sand- " scorching", " beautiful", " itchy "', " scratchy" , "crumbly" etc. Look at the children's amazing finished results !

Today Little Oaks did our Barnardo's Big Toddle!! The children were all very excited! They had all made a mask each to wear that resembled an animal as this years toddle theme was safari! Everyone wore safari themed clothes and even dressed up as their favourite animals!

The children did so well walking around the local park raising money for Barnardo's, looking at all the wildlife and nature they could find and of course a cheeky stop off at the play park too! Each child has received a medal and sticker for their hard work which they are walking around with proudly!!

A big thank you to all the parents, family and friends who sponsored the children! We have really enjoyed being part of a great cause!!

Safari is now the theme of the day, there are animals hidden all around nursery for the children to find and plenty of other fun imaginative activities for everyone to enjoy!! 🐯🦁🐰🐱🐶🐵🐷

The children were incredibly excited when the butterflies began emerging from their chrysalis' this week. Today was a beautiful sunny day to finally be able to release them. All the children had a close look before they waved the four butterflies off.
