Have always loved the beautiful wooden advent spirals, this year we have made one with salt dough, using cornflour to give a whiter dough.

Making boats out of foil to see what shapes floats best and then which can carry the heavier load. We had a traditional shaped boat and a cat shaped boat,though looking at the photo it looks more owl like, anyway the cat shape holds a lot and doesn't sink.

Our chosen theme for the moment is China,looking at the giant and red panda. Enjoying the wonderful myths and legends and lots of drawing of dragons.

These are some of the books we have enjoyed reading while exploring the polar regions with my older children. We have also mapped the climate across the world, created various animal scenes to play with. Found some lovely documentaries to watch.
