Today I found myself saying to a client:
“An imperfect plan implemented imperfectly is better than a perfect plan not implemented at all.”
Not exactly a catchy soundbite 😅
But it’s one of the most important lessons I teach.
Because one of the biggest mistakes people make is creating the perfect plan:
🏋️ The perfect training programme
🥗 The perfect meal plan
Everything looks great on paper...
Until real life shows up.
😩 Stress at work
🤒 A poorly child
🍷 A social event
😴 Poor sleep
💭 Low energy
As Mike Tyson famously said:
“Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.” 🥊
The problem usually isn’t the plan.
The problem is expecting yourself to execute it perfectly.
When that doesn’t happen, the thoughts start:
“I’m not sticking to the plan.”
“I need more discipline.”
“Why can’t I get this right?”
And before long, one imperfect day becomes another abandoned attempt.
This is why I encourage clients to stop thinking in black and white and start thinking in percentages:
🟢 75% = a good week
🟡 50% = an average week
🟠 25% = a difficult week
As long as you’re still on the board, you’re still moving forward 🙌
Because a 25% week isn’t failure.
It’s life.
And all we really need is continuity.
🏋️ One workout is better than none
🥗 A few mindful food choices are better than writing the whole week off
✨ Doing something is always better than doing nothing
The people who achieve lasting results aren’t the people who have perfect weeks.
They’re the people who keep showing up through the imperfect ones.
So if you’ve had a messy week, don’t ask:
“How do I get back to 100%?”
Ask:
“What’s the next small thing I can do today?”
That question will take you much further ❤️

I’m genuinely excited at the opportunity to help you do the same! I help busy professionals take control of their strength, shape, health & happiness
Hi !I’m Luke 😁👋 Since 2016, my passion & mission has been to help busy men & women find balance & vitality amidst the challenges of their (often hectic) professional & personal lives.

DO YOU KEEP FINDING THE WEIGHT YOU LOST? 😬
Have you ever lost weight...
Only to find it again six months later?
Lose weight
Regain weight
Start again
Repeat?
If so, you’re not alone
It’s one of the most common frustrations I hear
And every time it happens, people don’t just regain weight...
They sometimes lose confidence too
“What’s wrong with me?”
“Why can’t I stick to anything?”
💔
Here’s what I’ve noticed:
Most people know how to lose weight
They just don’t know what to do afterwards
They’ve spent years chasing short-term results without building the habits needed to sustain them
Think about tidying your bedroom
You spend a whole weekend cleaning it
Everything is organised
It looks amazing ✨
But then you stop maintaining it
No tidying
No putting things away
What happens?
The mess slowly returns
Not because cleaning doesn’t work
Because you stopped doing the things that kept it tidy
Fat loss works the same way
Many people become experts at losing weight:
• Slimming World
• Weight Watchers
• Keto
• Juice cleanses
• Meal replacements
• Low-calorie diets
They know how to create results
They’ve never learned how to maintain them
Because maintenance requires something different:
Not more discipline
Not more willpower
Not another diet
It requires habits that fit around your life
Your career
Your family
Your social life
Your holidays
Your stressful and imperfect weeks
That’s why I focus so much on helping clients build sustainable routines
Because the goal isn’t to lose weight once
The goal is to become the sort of person who can maintain those results for years
Without feeling like you’re always “on a diet”
Without obsessing over food
Without starting again every Monday
💚
Anybody can tidy a room
The real skill is keeping it tidy
So ask yourself:
Do I need another diet...
Or do I need a better maintenance strategy?

That Mirror Hit Me Hard 🪞🫠
On Saturday, Keri and I went to Nirvana Spa for a rare evening together 🧖♂️✨
She’s a nurse working long shifts and nights.
I’m a PT up at stupid o’clock and in bed early.
Add in parenting two energetic boys…
And honestly, we’re mostly just ships passing in the night 😅
So this was meant to be a chance to switch off and reconnect ❤️
Until I wandered into one of the quieter changing rooms…
And found myself surrounded by mirrors.
Suddenly I saw myself from angles I never usually see.
“Oh god… is THAT what I look like?”
Instantly, the negative self-talk kicked in:
“You’ve let yourself go.”
“You should be leaner.”
“Will you ever actually feel confident with your top off?”
Honestly, it knocked me for six 🤦🏻
Because being unhappy in your body isn’t just about appearance.
It steals your confidence.
Your headspace.
Your presence.
From that moment on, part of my brain was elsewhere instead of fully present with Keri 💔
—
In the past, that moment would’ve sent me spiralling.
But this time, I caught myself.
And reminded myself that sustainable change doesn’t come from self-loathing.
It comes from self-compassion 👍
So instead of doing anything extreme, I went back to basics:
➡️ Tracking my food
➡️ Moderate calorie deficit
➡️ Taking ownership
➡️ Small, repeatable actions
No suffering.
No crazy overhaul.
Just calm, steady consistency 👊💚
—
I’m sharing this because I know so many people carry these thoughts around quietly every day.
The body checking.
The frustration.
The shame.
The feeling that you’ve drifted away from the person you want to be.
And when you’re juggling work, kids, stress and exhaustion…
It can feel REALLY hard to turn things around.
So if you’re stuck in that place right now…
I get it ❤️
You probably don’t need another quick fix.
You probably just need support, structure, accountability and a plan you can actually stick to 🙌

I’ve just spent 4 days in Las Vegas! 🎰🍹
No routine
Frozen margaritas all day
3 hours sleep a nigh
Huge restaurant meals.
Casinos, shows, activities, dressing up as WWE wrestlers, laughing with mates and making memories
It was amazing! 😁
But when I got back…
The hangover, jet lag & sleep deprivation hit HARD
Straight back into parent duties too - so there was no chance to properly recover
This past week has been survival mode
My nutrition has been all over the place:
Buying food on the go
Way too much junk
Overeating for comfort and energy because I’ve been exhausted
Recovery score in the pits
Immune system down
Then a gastro bug to top it all off 🤝
And yep…
I gained 2kg
It took me 2 months to lose it… and less than 2 weeks to put it back on
Now this is where most people panic.
“Right. Time to be strict.”
❌ slash calories
❌ cut carbs
❌ train six times a week
❌ do loads of cardio
❌ only eat ‘clean’
But I’m not doing any of that
Because I know better now
This is a lifestyle
And in a real lifestyle:
There will be holidays
There will be stressful weeks
There will be periods where life knocks you out of routine
That’s normal
My response is always the same:
👉 get back to routine
👉 lock back in
👉 no drama
👉 no panic
I don’t react emotionally with some short-term extreme plan fuelled by guilt and stress
What’s the point?
I haven’t got the energy, time or headspace to go “all in” anyway
I’d just be setting myself up for failure
I see so many people stuck in the cycle of:
“on track” → “off track” → guilt & frustration → repeat
What actually works is:
✅ consistency over perfection
✅ seeing the bigger picture
✅ building habits you can return to quickly
✅ creating a lifestyle you can realistically sustain
This is something I help my clients with every single day
Teaching them how to bounce back when they hit bumps in the road
Because the people who succeed long term aren’t the people who are perfect
They’re the people who keep returning to the basics 👊

Ever feel like you’ve “failed” your week because you didn’t do everything perfectly? 😅
You’re not alone
This week, 4–5 of my clients marked themselves down…
“I only trained once instead of three times”
“I only tracked calories a few days”
“I only weighed in a couple of times”
—
And when they tell me what’s actually been going on…
It’s never laziness
It’s never a lack of discipline
It’s life
Work stress
Long hours
Relationship stuff
House moves
Low mood
Social commitments
Full-on, high-friction weeks
—
Here’s the problem…
If you judge yourself by a “perfect week” standard…
You’ll always feel like you’re falling short
And that leads to:
“What’s the point?”
“I’m not doing well”
“I’ll start again next week”
That’s the real thing that kills progress
Not the missed workouts
Not the imperfect week
The spiral that follows
—
Let me reframe this for you 👇
If you only had 50% to give this week…
And you gave 50%…
That’s 100% effort
That’s not underperforming
That’s high performance
—
Your best will look different on different days
And that’s normal
That’s expected
That’s human
—
Sustainable results don’t come from perfect weeks…
They come from stacking “good enough” weeks over and over again
Consistently good enough > occasionally perfect
Every single time
—
This is the shift:
Stop asking
“Was I perfect?”
Start asking
“Did I keep the ball rolling?”
—
Because a messy week doesn’t ruin progress…
But beating yourself up and quitting does
—
The goal isn’t perfection
It’s building self-trust
It’s showing up even when things aren’t ideal
It’s learning how to bounce back quickly
—
That’s how this becomes something that actually lasts 💚
—
If you’re stuck in that cycle of “good week → bad week → start again”…
We need to fix the mindset underneath it
That’s the real game
Drop me a message if you want help building something that actually fits your life 👊

Ever felt like certain foods make you “gain weight”…
and others make you “lose it”? 😅
You’re not alone!
—
When Nayla first came to me, she believed:
❌ Cardio was the only way to lose fat
❌ Some foods were “bad” (hello donut guilt 🍩)
❌ Her body was something to be ashamed of
She’d spent her whole life feeling like:
👉 “the tall, out-of-shape one”
👉 judged when shopping
👉 uncomfortable in photos
And constantly being told… “you should lose weight”
—
Fast forward 12 months…
Same person
Completely different mindset 👇
—
No more food guilt
No more panic when the scale goes up
No more “all or nothing” thinking
Instead:
✅ She understands how fat loss actually works
✅ She strength trains with confidence
✅ She manages her calories without obsession
✅ She trusts herself
—
She went home recently…
And the same people who used to criticise her?
Now asking for her “secret” 👀
—
Truth is…
There is no secret.
Just:
Consistency
Education
Self-awareness
And a plan that actually fits your life
—
The biggest win?
She’s in control now.
No spiralling. No panic. No shame.
—
And for the first time ever…
She felt AMAZING at her cousin’s wedding 💃
In clothes she felt proud to wear
In photos she actually wanted to take
—
This is what real transformation looks like
Not just weight loss…
But confidence
Control
And a better relationship with yourself 💚
—
If you see yourself in this story…
This is not how the story needs to end
You’ve just never been shown a way that works long-term

Ever feel like you just can’t stay consistent with your health?
It’s not because you don’t care
It’s because life keeps getting in the way
Work gets busy
Plans change
Motivation dips
And suddenly you’re “starting again” for the 5th time this year 😅
—
Most people don’t need more discipline…
They need a plan that actually fits their life
Something flexible
Something realistic
Something they can stick to even when things aren’t perfect
—
That’s exactly what I help people build 💚
No extremes
No all-or-nothing
No starting over every few weeks
Just a simple, structured approach that works in the real world.

Ever stepped on the scales after a “bad” weekend and felt like you’ve ruined everything? 😅
Trust me, you’re not alone
I see this all the time!
You’ve had a solid week…
stuck to the plan, felt in control…
then one social weekend, a few meals out, bit of snacking…
You step on the scales and BAM 💥
Up a kilo
Instant panic
—
“What’s the point?”
“I’ve messed it up”
“I can’t stick to anything”
Cue the spiral…
And before you know it, you’re off track completely.
—
Let me tell you about “Janice” 👇
She nailed Monday → Friday
Routine, structure, consistency
Saturday? Things got a little messy:
Nando’s 🍗
Domino’s 🍕
Snacks
Socialising
No structure
Sunday weigh-in: +1kg
Old Janice? That would’ve been game over
Full spiral. “Sod it” mode activated.
—
But this time we paused
And we looked at the facts 👇
To gain 1kg of body fat, you’d need to eat roughly 7700 calories ABOVE maintenance
For her… that’s about 9500 calories in a day
Even with the food she had?
Highly unlikely
—
So what actually happened?
Simple:
💧 Water from extra salt
💧 Water from extra carbs
🍽️ More food sitting in the gut
That’s it
Not fat
—
And guess what happened Monday?
Back to 69kg
No drama
—
This is why daily weigh-ins matter…
But ONLY because they give us an accurate weekly average
Tthe day-to-day number?
It’s practically meaningless on its own
Only the trend in weekly averages over time tells the truth
—
The real skill ISN’T avoiding the spike…
It’s how you respond to it
No punishment cardio ❌
No starving yourself ❌
No “I’ll start again next week” ❌
Just…
Back to normal eating the next day
—
The scales are just a tool.
Use them well → they guide you
Use them badly → they mess with your head
I see too many people struggling with a toxic relationship with the scales… when actually, they’re doing better than they think
—
If this sounds like you - stuck in that cycle of “good week → bad weekend → spiral”…
That’s exactly what I help people break 💚

Let me share a mistake I see all the time 🤔
Someone sets a goal:
A number on the scale
A date in the diary
And it’s like a switch flips
“Right… this is it… let’s go!” 💪
Suddenly it’s salads, steps, gym sessions, no treats
Full focus
All in
Life on hold
And… it works
For a bit
The scale drops
Clothes fit better
You start thinking “okay… maybe I’ve cracked it this time” 😏
But then… life happens
Work gets busy
Stressful weeks 😵💫
Something comes up
Energy dips
And the plan starts to wobble…
Miss a session
Food isn’t as “perfect”
You feel off track
Motivation drops
“I’ve ruined it!” kicks in 😬
And everything unravels
Next thing you know… back at square one
Frustrated
Fed up
“Why do I always do this?” 😞
—
And honestly?
It’s not you ❤️
It’s the approach
Most fat-loss plans only work when life is going “perfectly”
And when does that ever happen!? 😂
Exactly
—
And here’s the bit no one talks about…
Even if you do hit the goal
What happens next? 🤷♂️
If it felt restrictive
extreme
unsustainable
You’re not living like that forever
So things slip
Old habits creep back in
And you end up back where you started
Not because you failed
But because the method was never built to last
—
I see SO many people stuck in this cycle 😮💨
—
The shift is simple
Stop chasing the goal
Start building something that fits your life
Something you can do when you’re busy
stressed
low on motivation
Because staying consistent when life gets messy
is the difference 💡
—
That might look like:
Training a few times a week
Eating well most of the time (with the odd treat 🍫)
A bit of structure… without it feeling like prison
Nothing extreme
Just something you can stick to
—
It’s not as flashy
But it works
And more importantly… it lasts 🔥
—
That’s what I focus on with my clients
Not just “weight loss”
But building a lifestyle that fits around real life
So they don’t have to keep starting over
—
If you’re tired of that cycle
Drop me a message
Happy to help 😊

Losing weight but getting weaker? 🤔
I often speak to people who are trying to lose weight
On the surface, things look like they’re working
✅ Scales are going down
✅ Clothes are fitting better
All good, right? 😁
But underneath?
They’re feeling more tired
Less strong
A bit more “fragile”
Not quite the goal of feeling fit & healthy 😅
—
As we get older, we naturally start to lose muscle
But if you’re dieting, doing loads of cardio, or not resistance training…
You can speed that process up
This is where things start to go a bit sideways 😕
—
Muscle loss affects everyone…
But especially women
Because women naturally have less muscle to begin with, and hormonal changes (like menopause) can speed things up
Which makes maintaining strength even more important 💡
—
Why does having muscle matter?
Because muscle isn’t just about how you look
This has nothing to do with trying to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger! 🤣
Muscle is what helps you:
➡️ Get through day-to-day tasks without everything feeling like hard work
➡️ Keep up with your kids (or grandkids)
➡️ Avoid injuries
➡️ Feel steady, balanced and confident in your body
➡️ Keep your metabolism ticking
Lose too much of it… and life just feels that bit harder 😫
—
What we actually want is this:
➡️ Lose fat
➡️ Maintain (or build) muscle
That’s where the magic happens ✨
—
You feel stronger
You move better
You’ve got more energy
And you feel more confident in your body
Not just now… but years down the line 🙌
—
This is a big focus with my clients
Not just “weight loss”
But building a body that supports your life
—
If you’ve been:
• Losing weight but not feeling great
• Avoiding resistance training
• Or just unsure what you should be doing
You’re not alone - I see it all the time
But it’s something we can fix 👍
