Emotional boundary setting is key to overcoming stress issues, building confidence & feeling well.

But it’s not easy at first!!

It’s so important though so worth investing in.

We can’t create healthy relationships with ourselves or others if we don’t respect our needs.

Not setting clear boundaries can lead to conflict, stress and burnout.

Happy New Year xx

When I say ‘happy new year’,
I’m not for a moment,
expecting this to occur,
for that is not possible,
a year must be all things.

Happiness must come and go,
like the tides and the winds,
just as sadness,
and all the emotions in between.

When I say ‘happy new year’,
I’m really wishing you,
a baseline of peace,
of gratitude.

Because if you can sit with these things,
for the most part,
happiness will thrive,
when it does arrive,
and sadness will know its place in the mix.

If you can nourish these things,
daily,
you will also grow hope,
for it flourishes in such soil.

And hope is the key,
to this enigmatic state
of ‘happiness’ we seek.

When I say ‘happy new year’,
I’m really wishing you more happy days,
than sad days,
more joy than misery,
more laughter than tears…
and the wisdom to accept,
that they all belong.

Happy new year, my friends.
Happy new year.

Your power and choices are here now. The more you try to control things outside of your control the more stress and powerlessness you’ll experience.

Trying to control a future that no one can predict or guarantee is a recipe for worry and anxiety.

Instead you can influence outcomes and stack the odds in your favour through you choices and focus each day. But, you cannot guarantee an outcome by overthinking and worrying.

For over 10 years, I’ve been helping adults overcome emotional overwhelm and fears.

It’s possible to be free of anxiety issues, overwhelm, panic attacks and other stress symptoms.

As a hypnotherapist and coach, I offer a safe, compassionate and non-judgmental space in Reading, Berkshire or via Zoom online.

I believe that wellbeing is innate with us and we can come back to it when we allow the space and time.

It’s possible to release from old unconscious patterns and heal from the past.

It’s possible to unlearn old responses and create new ways of being. It’s possible to feel completely different.

It’s possible to have more fun, more joy and more love even if that feels far away right now…. It’s always possible.

Love this ❤️

My poem Joy Chose You has recently gone viral thanks to the poet Harry Baker reading it out so beautifully.

Joy Chose You…
a reminder to embrace those unexpected moments of joy,
they are special
and very much meant for you.

How often are you ‘shoulding’ yourself? Sometimes it might help you focus on things that need doing. However, often it’s a habit and a mind trap that can keep you stuck, feeling guilty or anxious.

The key is to turn ‘shoulds’ into choices.

Ask yourself, is that ‘should’ true? Is that ‘should’ helping me? Or, says who?

Then if it is helpful or true for you then drop the should and change it to a choice.

Eg: instead of ‘I should go to the gym’, it’s now, ‘I am choosing to go to the gym because.. ‘
