Stuck on your middle-splits? Try these 4 poses to ease you in 🧘
1. Single leg raises will improve the mobility of your adductors in your inner thighs 🌸
2. Mandukasana (frog pose) stretches your inner-thighs in a similar way to middle-splits 🐸
3. Upavistha Konasana (wide-angle seat) variation against a wall also opens your hips just like in middle-splits. This asana allows you to easily control the intensity of your stretch 💗
4. Kurmasana (turtle pose) stretches the hamstrings, inner-thighs, and lower-back. This asana is great because it asks for control and mindfulness, you’ll notice yourself engaging your legs and core more intuitively 🐢
Middle splits is a deep hip opener which is wonderful for releasing emotional tension, you may feel a swell of emotion when doing this pose and that’s totally normal! Keeping breathing fully, notice sensations, and remind yourself that you are safe. Come out of the pose when you’re ready, one leg at a time 🩷
This deep hip opener is also great for improving flexibility and mobility in the hips and relieving physical tension. 🙏

Anahatasana (Melting Heart Pose) is a powerful heart-opener that relieves tension in the shoulders, neck, and upper back. On a deeper level, it promotes emotional release, enhances openness to love, and calms the nervous system.
This variation stretches your triceps - Great after exercise like weightlifting, climbing or pilates 🏋️♀️
Melting Heart Pose Tips ✨
• Keep your knees aligned with your hips for proper support.
• Focus on lifting and expanding your chest rather than deepening your backbend.
• Use a block or pillow under your chest to create more space and ease in opening your heart.
Breathe deeply and let your heart melt toward the earth. 💛

I'm so excited to share that I've recently taken over the yoga slot at Spencers Wood Village Hall on Tuesdays 8-9pm 🧘♀️ Starting the 3rd!
• The class is for all levels - going back right back to basics, for those who are new to yoga as well as those who are experienced and interested in refreshing/mastering the key components! 🔑🙏
• I use an opt-in approach for adjusting, which means I ask permission at the start when everyone has their eyes closed for complete privacy 😊
• If you have any mat/props bring it along!
• Wear your comfiest clothes! 👕
• The class includes: gentle warm ups, learning how to do poses, moving in a flowing way, stretching (at your personal level), pranayama (breathing exercises), and a light meditation to encourage rest and relaxation to wind-down for the evening 🌙
• Bring any blanket/pillow for rest and relaxation at the end!
