Year 12 Visit the Tower of LondonπŸ‘‘

On Friday 5th June, 26 of our Year 12 students visited the Tower of London with Mr Scobey. It was a fantastic day exploring the armoury, the White Tower and, of course, the Crown Jewels πŸ‘‘

Students also walked the historic grounds where figures such as Anne Boleyn, Catherine Howard and Lady Jane Grey once stood, bringing their learning vividly to life.

As part of their A-level studies on the Wars of the Roses, students attended a specialist seminar, helping to deepen their understanding of this fascinating period of history.

A huge thank you to Mrs Springer, Mr Scobey and our brilliant Year 12 students for making it such an enjoyable and successful trip!

One of the highlights of our musical year is the Key Stage 3 Concert. We were treated to every musical genre from rock and roll to classical. Bravo to the brave students who performed in front of parents and friends in our beautiful Tithe Barn.

Our Year 8 students had a fantastic lesson exploring sensory evaluation this week!
They taste tested a new reduced-sugar flapjack recipe using a taste profiling star chart to compare 3 samples to find the most popular. They took on the challenge of a triangle test to spot the β€˜odd one out’ with 2 strengths of squash. Finally, they carried out a paired preference test with crisps, using sensory descriptors to justify their opinions
It was great to see students developing confidence in tasting, analysing and explaining their choices using key sensory descriptor wordsβ€” some future food critics in the making!
