The goal of Project Soothe is to invite the public to help us create a bank of soothing images that we can use in future research and psychotherapy.

In research and psychological therapy, we know that the ability to soothe ourselves at times of distress helps us stay well. However, little is known about how people soothe themselves in everyday life. Our goal is to learn more about the everyday experience of self-soothe. We hope to achieve this by inviting you to send us images that make you feel soothed. We will then post some of these images

Tell us the music you find soothing!

We are recruiting adults to take part in a research study. We aim to find out more about music that people find soothing to support mental health and wellbeing.

Taking part will involve completing a very brief online survey (~5-10 minutes) and there’s a chance you can win a £25 Amazon voucher!

We are creating a new soothing app to support mental wellness in teens. We are looking for 12 - 17 years olds to shape the design and features of the app.

This will involve a 30-40 minute interview with our app developer Pooja on Zoom. You will be given a £10 voucher for your time. DM if interested or email Pooja to book: [email protected]

Swipe and share to show your support for teen mental wellness!

We love this depiction of the 3 evolutionary systems that underpin Gilbert’s theory of compassion by

Balance between these 3 systems is important to retain mental wellness. Project Soothe is examining if the soothe system can be stimulated using photographs. This will help bring this system back into balance and improve mental well-being 🙌🙌
