A year in photographs. 📸

Today is World Photography Day, so it felt like a good excuse to look back through some of the moments we’ve captured at OPS over the past academic year.

A school year is made up of thousands of moments. These are just a few of ours.

One of the lovely things about Forest School at OPS is that getting there simply means walking out of the classroom and into the woods.

Mr May and Miss Jones joined our Kindergarten and Pre-Reception children this morning for some exploration and playtime, including a look at our rather dry pond, which prompted a conversation about evaporation.

We're lucky to have all of this within our own 65 acres, ready to be explored as part of our school day.

Our Year 8 leavers’ video was a very personal one, with members of staff each choosing a pupil to talk about and sharing what made them special, some favourite memories and a few words for the future.

The final video says a lot about OPS and how well our pupils are known by the people who teach and care for them.

Of course, getting those messages on camera didn’t go entirely to plan…

Here are just some of the bits that didn’t make the final cut.

You can watch the finished Year 8 leavers’ video on our website.

One of the nicest things about school life at The Oratory Prep School is that it’s not just the children who make friends.

We offer a range of clubs for parents throughout the week. Swimming, tennis, choir, football and hockey all provide another opportunity to meet people, try something new and become part of the wider OPS community.

We often talk about children feeling known as individuals, but we also want families to feel that they belong. Those connections between parents help make our school the welcoming, supportive place that it is.

It’s one of those things you won’t find in a league table or inspection report, but we think it’s an incredibly important part of school life at The OPS.

If you’re joining us this September, we’d love to see you there.

There’s so much to discover beyond the classroom at The Oratory Prep School.

Our latest Clubs & Activities booklet is now live on our website, with a fantastic range of opportunities for pupils across the school. From sport, music and drama to coding, chess, gardening and cooking, there’s plenty to inspire every interest.

You’ll also find details of our Breakfast Club, After School Club and wraparound care, making it easy to plan the term ahead.

Take a look at the full booklet via the link in our bio or on our website.

Meet the Mays!

We’re delighted to welcome our new Headmaster, Will May, along with his wife Becky and daughters Elizabeth and Annabel, to The Oratory Prep School.

Captured on their final day The Marist School, UK , this photo marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.

They’re looking forward to getting to know our pupils, parents and staff, becoming part of the school community and making The OPS their home.

One family, ready to become part of ours. Welcome to The Oratory Prep School!

This summer we say goodbye to Mr De Silva as he concludes his time at The Oratory Prep School.

On behalf of our pupils, families, staff and wider community we are grateful for his leadership, dedication and commitment to our school.

We wish him well in the next chapter of his journey and thank him for the lasting contribution he has made.

Looking back with our 2025-2026 Sports Captains

At our end of term Sports BBQ our captains reflected on the seasons they shared with their teammates, celebrating successes and the friendships they made along the way.

First up is our Captain of Hockey, Mabel. Swipe to read snippets from her speech.

If you would like your child to join our pre-season hockey training on 27th and 28th August, get in touch with our Admissions department for more information. It's open to pupils in Years 3-8 and is run by our coaching team.

Walking around our end-of-year Art Exhibition last week it was impossible not to feel proud of our talented artists.

Every painting, ceramic piece, print and sketch tells the story of a pupil discovering their own creative voice.

In September, we will be opening “The Gallery” - a dedicated exhibition space at the heart of The Oratory Prep School, where creativity will become part of everyday school life. Every pupil, parent and visitor will pass through, celebrating the incredible work produced by our young artists.

With specialist facilities including pottery wheels and our own kiln, community art projects and more than 10 Art Scholarships awarded to leading senior schools over the past five years, we’re incredibly proud of what our young artists achieve.

To launch The Gallery, we’re inviting former OPS pupils to return and exhibit artwork they’ve created since leaving school.

We’d love our current pupils to walk through The Gallery, see the work on display and think...

“That started here.”

If you’re an OPS alumni and would like to be part of our opening exhibition on 10th September, please get in touch. We’d be delighted to celebrate your artistic journey.

Overheard at Sports Day

It turns out our staff take supporting their house very seriously. Cue tactical advice and cheering louder than the children, here's what Sports Day sounded like from the sidelines.

And who knew that's what OPS stood for?
