To help Reading residents stay cool in the heat, there are a number of indoor cool spaces in Reading, free to visit, where you can:

🧊 take a break from the heat
🧊 get out of the sun
🧊 cool down and rest

They are open to anyone who needs a cooler place to stay during the current hot weather, especially those finding it difficult to keep cool at home.

Info for September starters ☺️

If your child starts Reception in September, this can feel like a big change, but there is lots of support available.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be offering ideas of what you can do at home to help your child start their journey to Reception with confidence.

If your child is already attending a nursery or childminding setting, they will work with you and your child to prepare for the move to school.

See the comments for the link to our Journey to Reception page for helpful tips and advice.
