Did you know there are over 40 languages represented amongst our community? We are a truly international and diverse school, and we took the opportunity to celebrate by turning European Day of Languages into something bigger!

We spent the day:
👋Learning greetings from around the world
🌍Wearing accessories representing countries that mean something to us
💬Sharing presentations about our cultures and languages
👩‍🏫Trying out new languages with our specialist teacher, Madame Jenkins
🥘Eating amazing food from France, Mexico, Spain and Italy

What a special place our school is. It was wonderful to learn more about what makes us different and what brings us together, fitting perfectly into this term's whole-school theme, 'Who Are We?' 🫶

Introducing the newest member of the St Edward's team, Chef Martin.

We spoke to him about how he became a chef, his favourite things to cook and top tips for lunches and getting children to try new food!

We have already had lots of delicious meals this term, and we can't wait to see what else is in store. We are very lucky to have such a great team from our caterers, Chapter One, in the kitchen cooking fresh meals for the children every day.

Say cheese!

Year 3 are learning about teeth and building lots of important skills along the way.

They used observation and collaboration to take a closer look at their teeth and learn the different names together.

To consolidate and extend their learning they worked in teams to create and confidently present adverts to the class about the importance of keeping teeth healthy and how to brush properly.

This is part of their wider learning about healthy lifestyles and the function of muscles and bones in humans and animals, which they are approaching in lots of different, creative ways.

It's official!

We are incredibly proud to share the results of our recent ISI Inspection.

Not only did we meet all the required standards, but we were awarded a prestigious Significant Strength for the very heart of what we do; our curriculum.

Inspectors recognised the significant contribution it makes to our pupils' lives, their next steps and their futures, enabling them to achieve beyond what is normally expected for their age.

A huge congratulations to all our pupils who took their summer LAMDA exams.

They received their certificates today in assembly and we loved seeing their reactions when they saw the results. They are all outstanding and showed such commitment in preparing for the day and confidence when performing for the examiners.

Year 2 have started their Computer Science lessons with our digital specialist Miss Holloway and today’s session was full of laughter and fun.

Through a series of fun games and activities they are starting with the basic skills, with today’s lesson covering typing and finger position. They worked their way through a series of challenges, increasing in difficulty and speed.

Building the foundations now, as well as covering important topics such as online safety, gives them a head start when they take ownership of their personal devices in Year 4.
