Official Page of Kendrick School Kendrick School is an 11-18 selective girls’ school with Academy Status.

The school was founded in 1877 from an endowment made by John and Mary Kendrick, a reputable merchant family of Reading. From its early history it was seen as a pioneer amongst Municipal Schools of the time. Today Kendrick has a renowned national and local reputation as a centre of excellence for girls’ education and an outstanding school.

We have a vacancy for an Evening Site Assistant, 4.45pm to 9.30pm Monday to Friday. We are looking for someone who has good practical skills and/or maintenance experience and who takes pride in their work. You must be professional, reliable and flexible in your approach and enjoy working as part of a team but also be able to work on your own initiative and be self-motivated. Previous school caretaking experience is desirable but not essential, and full training would be given. More information and an application form can be found on our website. We have a vacancy for a Mathematics Teacher to join us in September 2026 to cover a maternity leave. This position would suit either a recently qualified or an experienced teacher. Kendrick School has a very good track record of developing ECTs and the successful candidate would be joining a supportive and experienced department.

Mathematics has a high profile within the school and achieves considerable success. It is a large department with experienced staff, where the students show a high degree of commitment to, and enthusiasm for their studies.

Kendrick School Sixth Form Open Evening: Wednesday 12th November 2025

Kendrick School welcomes new students into its Sixth Form and prospective entrants into Year 12 for September 2026 are invited to attend our Sixth Form Open Evening on Wednesday 12th November 2025.

We are a state funded selective school and offer a 3 or 4 AS/A level pathway in the Sixth Form in the following subjects (dependent on staffing and student numbers):

Art & Design * Biology * Chemistry * Classical Civilisation * Computer Science * Economics * English Literature * French * Geography * German * History * Latin * Mathematics * Further Mathematics * Music * Physical Education * Physics * Philosophy * Sociology * the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)

There are two sessions: Session 1: 4pm to 5.30pm for existing Kendrick students and their parents only and Session 2: 5.00pm to 6.30pm for external Year 11 students and their parents.

We have a vacancy for a School Administrator and Student Welfare Assistant to join us in September/October 2025. The role is term time only, Monday-Thursday, 8am to 3.30pm. We would also be willing to consider a job share, either 2 days/2 days or mornings/afternoons.

Applicants must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both adults and children and a desire to see every child reach their highest possible outcome. This is a busy role, and the successful candidate must be able to work calmly under pressure, have a flexible approach, use their own initiative and work well as part of a team. Being versatile, proactive and well organised are essential skills required for this role.

We are holding our Design Your Future careers event at Kendrick School for Kendrick School students in Years 9 and above on Thursday 6th March 2025 between 4.30pm and 7pm.

Exhibitor Arrival Time: 3.30pm onwards.

This will be an opportunity for students to:
