Nothing makes time fly faster than having a newborn, especially as we've decided to use my maternity leave as a time to do some building work whilst I'm not working!

I started Sweet Briar childminding with a little 10 month old, now he's started school and is thriving, learning and exploring along with many of the children I have cared for over the years.
Now our family is growing, and next time I open the doors as a childminder it will be with a new little one once more. I would like to thank all the families who have been part of our journey, i have been blessed to be part of their lives and my little man has made so many wonderful friendships. It really has been a dream come true.
The house this next year will be strangely quiet while I enjoy maternity leave and get to know our new addition, but I am already full of exciting ideas for when we are ready to welcome new friends.

☀️There really is no better place to spend a hot and sunny morning than on the river. ☀️
We loved searching for everything on our "river hunt" sheet, from dragonflies and ducks to weirs and bridges my little friends spotted them all.
Thank you to everyone at Thames Rivercruise Caversham for such a wonderful morning. Kids go free through the summer holidays which is a great deal!

School holidays with Sweet Briar Childminding are an opportunity to explore as many places and activities as we can, with lots of time to relax and play too.
💚 its so lovely to be able to spend a whole week outside again, it might not be a glorious sunny spring (yet) but we are so happy to have finally said goodbye to the winter chill! 💚
Naturally Curious Play was as brilliant as always yesterday, with lots of digging, mixing and cooperative play
And we have spent two wonderful days in local parks discovering and searching for spring blossoms, playing in the woods, exploring streams, sand and playing in the play-parks.
So much development and joy has been had by all.

To start off our "30 days wild" challenge we visited The Living rainforest, and learnt about lots of amazing wildlife. For half term they have a special event with lots of BEAUTIFUL butterflies.
The little ones were entranced watching them flutter around, and the big ones enjoyed the activities all about the life cycle of a butterfly.

This time last week Sweet Briar Childminding teamed up with some other local childminders and we took the children for a brilliant day at Bucklebury Farm.
Everyone had such a brilliant time that I decided to extend our ticket to a season ticket, lots more farmyard fun to come!

Have you been to linear park recently? It's looking BEAUTIFUL!
💕☀️ It feels so good to be back out in the sunshine, the children took charge leading the way through the tiniest tracks they could find in the woods, and playing a brilliant game of "jungle princess explorers". 👑🌴
