Every Wednesday afternoon, my office is filled with the sounds of our Rocksteady Music School bands practicing and learning their new instruments. As the term has moved along I have been able to hear the change and improvement, and see the enjoyment in the musicians' faces. This afternoon we had a little taste of the bands as they played a little concert. Fabulous musical experiences.

Huge congratulations to our cross-country runners on their stellar performances on Saturday at Chiltern Edge School.
Wonderful running from everyone, some fantastic podium places; the Year 5 Boys won the overall Winter Series participation award with the Year 6 boys in 2nd place, with one Year 6 receiving 3rd in the individual participation too.
Thanks so much to all our brilliant organizers, and to our wonderful parents for pitching in, turning up and shivering with big smiles on their faces.
We are so proud of you all.

We are very proud of our school choir who sang very beautifully last night at the Oxford Big Sing 2022. This a charity concert for Christian Aid and involves schools in the Oxford region to perform at Oxford Town Hall. The Kidmore End Choir performed their own Christmas song as well as performing as a massed choir.

Foundation Stage had a fantastic time at Didcot Railway Centre this week. They built a railway just like Brunel, were shown how to work the signals, enjoyed traveling in style on the train and had a peak in the engine shed too!

Year 2 had a great afternoon today learning about space and the first man on the moon. Mr Griffin showed them a scrapbook of actual newspaper cuttings from the time that his mother had made and that he had bought with him from Australia.

You are fantastic and we are very grateful.

This morning our children observed two minutes of silence as part of our Remembrance Day service. Some of our children read remembrance poems very movingly, and Reverend James led us in prayer.
This afternoon 6 of our Year 5 children, plus Toby and Mr Griffin, spent some time talking and reading to the residents at the Abbeycrest Nursing Home in Sonning Common. The children enjoyed hearing the residents' stories and memories, and are looking forward to going back again in a couple of weeks' time.

Year 4 have had two visitors today which has enhanced our learning.
Mrs Stone is a a dentist. She gave us a lot to think about and has made it clear that we need to check our labels for the content of sugar!
We were also visited by the Reverend James who inspired us and taught us about the Trinity; we also wrote our own Grace for our class.
Thank you to our visitors.

We had a fabulous time at Ufton Court Educational Trust this week, going back in time to a Bronze Age settlement where we learnt the skills of fire lighting, spinning wool and wattling. We then held a funeral service for our tribal elder and laid him to rest in the long barrow, by the stone circle.

Thank you so much to the 7 fabulous parents who came and helped build the decking frame in the quiet garden this morning. We are extremely grateful.
