The Easter break means one thing - exam season is looming! I hope that everyone is having both a restful and productive break.
I am looking towards the new year already as I will have a few slots opening up. Whether you are looking for targeted GCSE revision, a bit of a boost due to lost classroom time because of the pandemic or a long term tutor please do get in touch. I do tend to get booked up relatively quickly so do drop me a message, even its its to register your interest.
I have especially enjoyed teaching the AQA Further Maths Qualification this year. It's learning maths because you love maths!

I feel like we’re winding down for Christmas already, which is mad because school doesn’t finish for another few weeks. We’re making biscuits today where we are learning about shape and spatial awareness. She just thinks she’s making yummy food!
I have a 60 minute slot available for next term on a Monday at 5:10. Please do get in touch if you are interested. I teach up to A Level but do have a look at my pinned post for more information.

Just a note to say I am well and truly full for this term! I also wanted to share this wonderful review with you all. I recieved this off a mum of a Year 10 student who I started tutoring last year whilst they were in Year 9:
"My daughter was told at nursery school she had a natural ability in maths, but by the time she had gone through primary school she was terrified of maths, panicked in every test and became more and more confused. At secondary school she languished in the bottom set and was certain she was terrible at maths. In order to have any chance of getting her through her GCSE I decided to hire a maths tutor and Alice came highly recommended so we signed up. After the first lesson my daughter asked me why her primary school hadn’t taught her percentages like Alice as she now completely understood them and she’d only had 1 hour instead of years of teaching. She’s now routinely getting scores of over 90 percent in maths tests at school and has gained her confidence and lost her terror. In fact she routinely explains to her classmates how to do problems as she’s already covered the topic with Alice and understands what she’s doing. I am certain Alice will get her through her GCSE with ease and can’t recommend her highly enough. "

Hello September!
It means one thing - school is imminent. I love how this month feels; a new academic year means a new start. Stationery shopping is the favourite of mine.
I am getting quite full regarding the tutoring sessions I offer but still have a little space. Just drop me a message if you are interested. If you have a year 11 who just needs a little more targeted input I am offering 30 minute booster sessions. These could work very well over Zoom, and of course, they will be individual sessions (one student only).
Looking forward to hearing from you!

I've not written on this page for a whole year. It's just felt like such a weird situation this year, hasn't it? I know that results are going to be coming out imminently which means that the new school year is looming. It always comes around so quickly.
I am still working over Zoom for everyones safety. It has worked really well over the last school year as I am able to share my screen with the tutee and annotate the work as we talk.
I have some availability for the coming year so if your child or someone you know is looking for weekly maths tutoring don't hesitate to drop me a message.
I hope everyone enjoys the rest of the summer holidays. We might even see some more sun!
In the meantime, have a go at this...

Wishing everyone picking up their exam results today all the best. It’s been a very unusual year to say the least but I’m honoured to have been able to help all my A-level tutees. All the best for your future endeavours.

A question you could find towards the end of a higher GCSE paper...what’s the answer?!

Has your child just received their maths mock results? Would they benefit from some extra exam prep? Are there a few topics they need to get up to speed with? If yes, please get in touch!

If you can get all ten, you're doing great!

Secondary School graph functions don’t need to be boring. Why not try some of these next time dad cracks out some of his best moves.

Hi, I’m Alice. I’m a qualified Maths teacher with a degree in Mathematics from the University of Reading. I’ve been teaching secondary school maths since 2011 as well as running enrichment sessions for Gifted and Talent students in years 5 and 6.
I offer one on one maths tutoring for SATs, KS3, GCSE and A-level Pure. I run weekday evening sessions during term time and I’m happy to come to you.
For secondary school pupils I suggest a one hour session however for year six students, a thirty to forty five minute session is much more effective.
I understand how important your child’s education is and want to work with you and your child to help them achieve their best. I am able to work with a wide range of characters and abilities so please get in contact to discuss your child’s needs.
