πŸŽ“ Celebrating GCSE Results Day 2026

Today, we are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of our Year 11 students as they receive their GCSE results.

Across the year group, there are some fantastic academic outcomes and individual successes to recognise, alongside many examples of excellent progress, determination and resilience.

Results Day is about more than the highest grades alone. For some students, success means achieving an exceptional set of results. For others, it is exceeding expectations, making significant progress from their individual starting points, securing a hard-earned pass or achieving the qualifications needed for their next step.

Headteacher Robert Harris said:

"There are some exceptional individual performances across a wide range of subjects, but success looks different for every young person. Whether a student has achieved the very highest grades, exceeded their own expectations, made significant progress or secured the qualifications they need for their chosen pathway, each achievement deserves to be recognised.

We are immensely proud of the resilience, maturity and strength of character this year group has shown – particularly given that their transition to secondary school and wider educational journey included periods of significant disruption.

We wish every member of the Class of 2026 every happiness and success as they move on to Sixth Form, college, apprenticeships and other exciting opportunities."

πŸ‘ Congratulations, Class of 2026. We look forward to sharing some of your individual successes and next destinations soon.

πŸ‘©β€πŸŽ“πŸ‘¨β€πŸŽ“Celebrating another year of strong A Level and Level 3 BTEC results!

Today, our students are celebrating another really pleasing set of examination results, achieving even more A*-C grades this year than last.

There have been some exceptional individual performances across a range of A Level subjects and vocational courses which we look forward to sharing soon.

🌟 Many students have overcome huge personal challenges, setbacks and difficulties during their studies, showing strength of character and resilience to still achieve strong outcomes. This makes their achievements all the more noteworthy and deserving of recognition.

Headteacher Robert Harris said:

πŸ—£ "Our Sixth Form has, quite rightly, established a reputation for strong academic success, and this year's results continue that trend. From an overall perspective, the outcomes are remarkably similar to those achieved last year, which is a very pleasing position to be in.

Amongst today's successes are a number of students who have achieved outstanding combinations of A and A* grades at A Level and the equivalent for vocational BTEC Awards, and many others who have made exceptional progress from their individual starting points.

Such achievements are never the result of chance. They reflect the commitment, determination and resilience shown by our students, who are both supported, encouraged and challenged by a highly dedicated team of teaching and support staff.

I am delighted that so many students have been able to reap the rewards of their hard work and perseverance, particularly those who have overcome significant obstacles in doing so. It is something we say every year, but it remains no less true today: whether students have achieved a string of top grades, secured a hard-earned pass, or gained the results required for their chosen university, apprenticeship or employment pathway, we are immensely proud of each and every one of them.

We wish them every happiness and success as they take their next steps."

πŸ₯³ Congratulations, Class of 2026. We look forward to sharing some of your results and onward destinations soon!

β˜€οΈ 🌊 Water Safety Reminder for Families

Following on from correspondence we sent out earlier this summer, we'd like to take this opportunity to share a reminder about water safety.

The Department for Education has recently highlighted the importance of water safety, here are some useful resources for our school community:

πŸ’§ Learn the Water Safety Code https://www.rlss.org.uk/water-safety-code

πŸ’§ Water Safety Resources for Parents and Young People https://respectthewater.com

πŸ’§ Videos and Guidance on Staying Safe Around Water https://www.youtube.com/

πŸ’§ Child Accident Prevention Trust https://capt.org.uk/water-safety

πŸ’§ Royal Life Saving Society UK https://www.rlss.org.uk

These resources provide practical advice on recognising risks, staying safe around water and knowing what to do in an emergency.

Please take a few moments to discuss water safety with your child, particularly if you are planning visits to beaches, lakes, rivers or other open water locations during the summer holidays.

Stay safe and enjoy the summer break.

The Water Safety Code is the fundamental spine of all water safety education. It is designed to provide simple and easy to remember information that acts both as a proactive measure to help people to educate everyone across the UK and Ireland to make early, critical decisions and also to help people...
