I was going through Nothing to Declare at a London airport this afternoon. There was a bored-looking guard sitting on a chair. I decided to entertain him by shouting, “nothing except my genius!”

He said “excuse me?” I said, “I have nothing to declare except my genius!!”

“Is there a problem here, sir?” he said. I told him “You know… Oscar Wilde? Do you not know Oscar Wilde? Oh come on, man!!”

Anyway, I was detained for three hours but I’m on my way home now.

BIG NEWS 📣

Please pass on to anyone who might need a local GCSE Maths tutor 👨‍🏫

I have just found out that my tutor for my daughter has had 2️⃣ spaces become available for Maths tuition for GCSE this academic year 🗓️ due to being able to free up some more time in his timetable 🤓

As a Y13 student studying both maths and further maths for A-Level and having achieved a grade 9 at GCSE, he is well equipped to support students to achieve more ↗️ or get closer to their targets 🎯

Please get in contact with me if you or anyone is interested in discussing further. Local area only🚶🏻‍♂️

Wishing the 2025 Y11 cohort all the best for their exam results tomorrow morning.
You haven’t had the easiest of paths thanks to everything that happened at the start of your secondary journey: masks, lockdowns, bubbles, social distancing, one way systems, online learning to name just a few of the ways you were forced to adapt and change to suit the evolving climate.
Tomorrow marks just another day when you will need to change for the future. However, this time, you get to choose. You get to open that envelope, take a deep breath, maybe even shed a tear, and then start making plans for what the next two years of your life will look like.
For some, it may be accepting an offer already on the table, for others it will mean going back to the drawing board or taking a side step and finding a different pathway. Both journeys are fine and either will lead you to your destiny.
Be proud of yourselves. You have completed school. You have overcome more than any other cohort that came before you. You have sat the same standard of exam as every cohort that has come before you.
I hope it goes your way and any emotion you feel is positive or maybe relief that the wait is over and now you can continue to progress.
If it doesn’t quite go your way, speak to school teachers, college tutors and your parents or carers and then you make the decisions that will help you get onto the next step. It is your future after all.
You don’t need a defined career goal, and it is fine whether you have one or not. Just know that you have lots of options to keep learning and growing.
You are all brilliant, and yes maybe you could have tried harder but reflection is key to growth, we are all headed to blossoming in our own ways. Keep your chin up. You have already achieved LOADS. The future can be anything you want it to be 🥰

How good are you with money? What about reading people's emotions? How healthy are you, compared to other people you know? Knowing how our skills stack up against others is useful in many ways. But psychological research suggests that we're not very good at evaluating ourselves accurately. In fact, ...

Our brains are wired to forget things unless we take active steps to remember. Here’s how you can help students hold on to what they learn.
