Belmont School celebrates Year 11 achievements
We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of our Year 11 pupils, with the majority securing recognised qualifications or qualification-level outcomes across a range of academic, functional and vocational pathways.
For pupils at a specialist SEMH school, achievement is about much more than examination results. Many young people arrive at Belmont having experienced significant barriers to education and may have struggled to engage successfully with learning in the past. Re-engaging with education, building positive relationships, developing confidence and resilience, and sustaining participation in learning are all important milestones.
Our Year 11 outcomes reflect the breadth of opportunities available at Belmont. Pupils have achieved qualifications across GCSE, Functional Skills, Entry Level and vocational programmes, including subjects linked to practical and employment-focused skills.
This range of pathways reflects our commitment to ensuring that every pupil has the opportunity to succeed in a way that is appropriate to their individual needs, strengths and aspirations. For some pupils, this will mean progressing through a traditional academic route, while for others a functional or vocational pathway may provide the strongest foundation for their next steps.
Our approach combines high expectations with specialist teaching, therapeutic support and strong relationships. Staff work closely together to understand individual barriers to learning and help pupils develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to progress.
As pupils move on to further education, training, employment or other post-16 opportunities, we want them to leave Belmont with more than a collection of qualifications. We want them to have developed the communication, teamwork, relationship and self-management skills needed to navigate adult life successfully.
We are extremely proud of the achievements of our Year 11 pupils and the determination they have shown throughout their time at Belmont. We wish them every success and happiness in the next stage of their journey.
