START THE YEAR WITH A MOCK 📝✨
I know, I know...a mock test might feel like the LAST thing you want to throw at your child when they’ve only just gone back to school after six weeks off 😂
But hear me out...
Starting Year 5 with a Kent Test mock is actually one of the BEST times to do one. At this stage, when the summer holidays have slightly turned their brains to soup, we are NOT expecting them to smash a Kent Test paper. In fact, it's quite the opposite! But the point is to find out where they are NOW, when they've got the most TIME to prepare, so you can hit the ground running and actually focus on what they need.
Your child might not thank you on the morning...but hopefully they will in the long run 😂
Reasons to start the year with a mock:
✨ It gives you a genuine starting point to measure progress from
✨ It highlights gaps before you spend months revising the wrong things (as kids love to go over and over the stuff they're already good at...I know because I am the same 😂)
✨ It shows which areas already come naturally to your child
✨ It introduces unfamiliar VR and NVR question types
✨ It helps them practise working independently and deciphering questions
✨ It gives them experience of timings without the pressure of the real test
✨ It makes future mocks and the real thing feel much less scary
✨ It can help you decide whether the Kent Test route actually feels right for your child
✨ Most importantly, it means the REAL Kent Test won’t be the first time they’ve experienced anything like it
