Today we also sadly said fare well to Miss Eden. She has been a brilliant teacher at our school who will be dearly missed. All of the classes made her lovely cards and gave her a big cheer!

A big send off for our year 6s! 🎉

Today was the last day of primary school for our year 6 children!

It was a day of sadness but it was also full of happiness as we reminisced over their memories at Bishop Henderson. They welcomed their loved ones and the school into the hall for their leaver’s assembly. They shared their memories from over the years with us and it was lovely to see their school journey through photos. We heard the famous song ‘Good-bye my friend’ which the children sang bravely!

It has been an absolute pleasure for us all to teach these fantastic children. We wish them all the best for their adventures onto secondary school and are so proud of everything they have achieved!

Today we were joined by the Kids Circus Workshop to teach us some circus skills!

Each class had a workshop with the group to learn skills such as juggling, plate spinning, hula-hooping and using a diabolo!

The children really enjoyed the activities and all did brilliantly! They particularly liked the show at the end of the day where they got to see some exciting tricks!

Our gardening club have done a fantastic job this Summer term growing plants and food in our school allotment.

They were selling some of their produce at our Summer fayre today. Thank you to those who supported them!

A huge thank you to Mrs Mitchell, Mrs Pope and Miss Steeper for donating their time to make this club happen! We are very grateful.

SUMMER FAYRE ☀️

The sun was shining for our school summer fayre today! It was a great afternoon with fantastic stalls, lots of fun, lovely music from Mrs Lane and the return of the famous Heatherspoons.

Thank you to Friends of Bishop Henderson, Coleford for organising a brilliant fayre for us! You worked so hard to make it an enjoyable time!

Thank you to the businesses who attended to share their wonderful products with us!

Thank you for all of the donations given to support the school!

Thank you to the staff for helping out too!

And finally, thank you to everyone who came to support us and enjoy the event!

Today was our last celebration assembly of the academic year!

Our year 3 children were presented with a bible and so were some other children who joined our school later than year 3. Thank you Clarissa for their lovely gift!

Some children were presented with certificates for their 100% attendance!

Each teacher presented a governor’s award to a child in their class. Mr Lane and Mr Reynolds also nominated a child each. Congratulations to these children!

Yellow house collected the most house points this year and had a party to celebrate! They enjoyed dancing, playing games and eating some party snacks.

Well done to Kingfisher Class for their assembly today! They all did brilliantly and it was great to hear about their learning. Thank you to everyone who came to support them!

BISHOP HENDERSON ROCK CONCERT 🎤🎸🎹

It’s that time of year again where we get to see what our Rocksteady bands have been up to this term! The school were invited to the rock concert and their loved ones were invited too.

All of the bands performed brilliantly and so confidently! We watched a variety of songs and instruments being played. They have been rehearsing for a few weeks but performed as if they’ve been playing for much longer! They truly rocked it! 🤘🏻

Our school production of ‘Rock Bottom’ was a success!

Our year 5 and 6 children have been working hard this term rehearsing for their school production. They performed ‘Rock Bottom’ for two evenings this week on stage with curtains, back drops, lights and all! The children performed exceptionally, looked fantastic in their costumes and were brilliant working with microphones, props and stage lighting.

They had the crowd cheering and laughing throughout the show and took on their roles with determination and passion.

They should all be so proud of themselves and we thank them for two wonderful evenings!

Thank you for Mrs Dagger for directing the performance and working with the children to produce a great show! Thank you to Mrs Chalk and Mrs Bullock for also helping to run the play and encourage the children through out the term.

Thank you to the staff at Bishop Henderson for helping with props, back stage, make up and the running of the performances.

Thank you to the Coleford Theatre Group for allowing us to use their equipment and supporting us through the show. One of our own children worked alongside the group to manage the music and sound effects. He did a fantastic job and even had an official badge to wear! We would like to thank him for doing such a marvellous job!

The children enjoyed watching the year 5 and 6’s dress rehearsal at the Legion this morning! They all performed brilliantly and looked great in their costumes. We know they’ll be great for their evening performances!
