Our Year 5/6 Football team played Carrington Juniors in a thrilling cup match this week. After conceding an early goal, the game became very end to end but, despite several brilliant opportunities and lots of pressure, we couldn’t quite find a breakthrough and the game ended 1-0. It was great to watch and a game played in an absolutely fantastic spirit. Well done to the boys and girls as our eyes turn now to the league.

Ancient Greece Day:
This morning they sculpted pots from clay, created mosaics depicting Greek myths and had visits from ancient philosophers, storytellers and mathematicians. This afternoon, they composed and performed opening ceremonies to honour the gods before taking part in our mini ancient Olympic Games!

This afternoon, in Science, Y5/6 were learning about air resistance as part of their topic on Forces. What better way to explore this than making parachutes!!! Unfortunately, not all of them worked and the poor wrestling figure lost a leg - all in the name of learning!

There has been some incredible writing going on across the school recently. These 3 superstars came to show me their Ancient Greece inspired mystery stories. They were full of beautiful language and clever plot devices. 🌟 💫 ✨

Year 5/6 had a fantastic day at Warwick Racecourse with Racing to School today. They dived into the maths behind horse racing, exploring the weighing room, the paddock, the stables and the racecourse itself. They were fantastic advocates for the school with lots of positive comments from racegoers, several of whom also wished they’d ‘done this sort of thing’ when they were at school!!! 🐎 🐎 🐎

The new Radnage tradition of an end of year karaoke disco was an absolute blast this morning. We have some very talented singers amongst our children. Then, this afternoon, we said goodbye to our Year 6s. A whirlwind of emotions, but a great end to a long year. Have an incredible summer everyone!!!

That was an emotional Leavers’ Assembly. Hearing the children talk so positively and passionately about their time at Radnage was inspiring but also a bit of a tear-jerker! We’re going to miss these incredible young boys and girls so, so much but know they are ready for their next step in life. We really hope they’re going to come back and see us though!!!

What an amazing Leavers’ Trip!!! This bunch of characters have given so much to our school during their time with us and thoroughly deserved the fun and laughter they enjoyed today. It was a privilege to experience it with them (shame the paparazzi on site completely misrepresented my rollerblading skills). 2.5 more days with these superstars!!!
