🔬✨ Science Week at HJPS! ✨🔬

What an incredible week of curiosity, questions and discovery! Our children have been thinking like real scientists – asking questions, making predictions, carrying out investigations and reflecting on what they found. From exploring famous scientists to testing their own ideas, every class has been busy discovering just how exciting science can be.

A highlight of the week was a visit from scientist and HJPS alumni Louis Brooks – our very own Mrs Brooks’ son! Louis spoke to KS2 about his journey into science, the inspirations that led him there and what his career as a scientist involves. The children asked fantastic questions and were inspired to see where a love of science can lead.

Who knows… maybe some of our future scientists were inspired right here this week! 🌟🔍

HJPS showed up BIG for Purim — epic costumes, huge smiles, nonstop dancing, and simcha in every single hallway! 🥳💜

Today we honoured those who gave their lives for our freedom. As a school, HJPS have been raising money for the Royal British Legion and we laid a poppy wreath at our local memorial to remember and reflect. 🌺

✨ Welcome back to a brand new year at HJPS! It has been so lovely to see the children back on their first day after summer! We were privileged to have Rabbi Goldstien blow the Shofar because it’s the Jewish month of Elul! The count down to Rosh Hashana has begun 😄 ✨

🎭🎉 Celebrating Purim HJPS style! From the fun costume catwalk 👗👑 to making mishloach manot 🍬💝, our students had a blast. We gathered for a meaningful Megillah reading 📜 with Rabbi Hoch ✡️, plus so many other great activities 🎉 A fantastic day of celebration and excitement with super disguises! 🥳

We’ve had so much fun celebrating Chanukah today at HJPS! From special assemblies with songs, to menorah lightings, fun activities and even latkes and doughnuts! It has definitely been a day to remember 😍🍩🥳🎁🪩🕎✨

Yesterday at HJPS we commemorated October 7th🎗️🇮🇱 We marked the significance of the day with a memorial assembly, joining together for Tefillah, Hatikva and a prayer for the IDF. Each child from Year 1 to 6 received a yellow ribbon to signify our solidarity with Israel. Am Yisrael Chai ✡️

✨End of eras & new beginnings ✨ This week, our fantastic 2023-24 student leadership team led their final assembly at HJPS, recounting their memories through the years. And very specially, they handed over the baton to the new team, who will lead in September! 🤩 Wishing our all our leavers the best of luck and we hope everyone has a lovely summer break! ✨
