My name is Vicky, and I am an Ofsted registered Childminder graded Outstanding in 2019. I have been with my husband Andy since 2009, and we have one daughter together called Charlotte who was born in July 2014. I also have 2 older sons from a previous marriage called Matthew (born July 2001) and Luke (born September 2004). The majority of my spare time is dedicated to quality family time, however
I do really enjoy my weekends in the garden relaxing and spending time with friends. Until having my daughter in 2014, my whole working career was spent within the Textile Industry working for the lead brand “Dorma”. I worked for the company for over 20 years, and had great opportunities to travel the world to places such as India, China, New York, and Germany. After having Charlotte, I decided that I didn’t want to return to the office world and turned my attention to childcare. I love watching children to grow and develop, and it just seemed like the most natural decision in the world to make. I am now fully trained for Paediatric First Aid (Level 3), I have completed my Level 2 training in Food Safety, completed my Safeguarding Children training, and have also completed a Channel General Awareness course. As part of the training I have attended Childminder Workshops (EYFS), to ensure I have the knowledge required under the EYFS Guidelines. I provide a safe, loving and homely environment, providing many stimulating toys and activities for children throughout the early years and primary age range. Children are encouraged to learn through their play, and next steps are encouraged using the children’s interests. I will provide suitable developmental experiences appropriate to the age and stage of development of each child. I will support and stimulate children’s social, physical, intellectual, communication and emotional development and build learning into every day activities rather than ‘formal learning’. Within my home I have a large outdoor garden, where the children will be able to play within a safe and secure area. I also have duck ponds within a minute walk from my home, which we will regularly go to visit.
