At Longdale Lodge OLC, our learners have been exploring the incredible life cycle of butterflies, from tiny caterpillars, to chrysalis, and finally to beautiful butterflies ready to take flight. ๐๐ฆ
This hands-on experience gave learners the opportunity to observe each stage of growth closely, develop care and responsibility, and build a deeper understanding of the natural world around them. Once the butterflies were ready, learners released them into the wild, watching them begin the next part of their journey.
Activities like this are a perfect example of our Learning Outside the Classroom ethos. By taking learning beyond the traditional classroom, learners are able to connect with nature, ask questions, build curiosity and experience meaningful learning in a real-world setting.
A wonderful reminder that some of the best lessons happen outdoors. ๐ฟ
