Gemma’s classes are fab fun and I’m sure these will be too πŸ’«

As parents ourselves we know how difficult the current situation is on the entire family.
Here at Hoglets, we believe that learning can truly be an amazing, fun adventure. With so many little ones 'homeschooling' at the moment, we're happy to help out in whatever way we can.

Hoglets free online classes are designed to help support key elements of the Early Years and KS1 curriculum, including:

- Communication and languageΒ

- Physical development / PE
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Literacy / English
- Understanding the world
- Expressive arts and design / Music

We've got free online classes every week - Saturday, Monday and Tuesdays.

Alongside the storytelling adventures, games, songs and energetic noisy fun, we also provide weekly craft activities to help continue the fun at home after the class has finished.

So let us help inject a blast of fun and silliness into your homeschooling routine.

Find out more and how to join a class atΒ https://hoglets.org.uk/ihoglets-online-classes/

P.S. Feel free to share our classes with your nursery, group or school - everyone is welcome!

πŸ‘―β€β™‚οΈπŸ‘―β€β™‚οΈπŸ‘― Such a difficult times for families with children at home at the moment. πŸ’™ this advice from SOS. Do whatever you need to to get through the days x

The loss of the school day routine can be problematic for lots of families (and I don't just mean the children!) and is often behind a lot of difficult behaviour at the moment.

Children thrive on routines and really struggle with unpredictability, however these routines can be loose. Don't be scared by the incredibly detailed colourful charts you see on social media highlighting what you should do for every hour of every day. It's much more realistic to aim for something like regular wake and bedtimes and mealtimes, with a similar rhythm in between. For instance a walk outside for half an hour after breakfast, an hour of school work before lunch and then story time after, followed by some more movement or exercise and then another half hour of more formal work. I wouldn't aim for more than about 30 minutes of work at a time, break it up with some fun or downtime (yes, that can include CBeebies).

Personally, I'm just aiming for everybody up and going by 9am at the moment! A family lunch time around the table. A chat about what each of us will be doing that day. An evening check in. Scheduled time for computer games and time for school work and so on. Build up to it though, don't feel you have to micro manage every minute of every day immediately!

The most important thing for children is to have parents and carers who are as calm and relaxed as possible (note I said β€˜as possible’ - that doesn’t mean no slip ups in control your end!). Aim for this, even if that means completely ditching routines!
